The most amazing part of this city is that where the video begins is literally the first thing you see when you get off the highway. They might as well have a huge billboard that says "TURN AROUND"

Grew up in neighboring Washington Park in the 60s and 70s then worked as a State Trooper for 27+ years mostly in these areas of the metro-east. The area was such a vibrant place but is just a decaying cesspool now.

Youre pretty darn brave driving around East St. Louis, i wouldnt go there unless i was in a Sherman Tank! Yes!, its THAT BAD, worse than Chicago's Leroy Brown!

Haha…not that brave. There were a few streets I did not turn on. Young gentlemen standing on the street waiting for you to pull up. I saw plenty of people leaning into cars conducting transactions. Probably not best to drive past that sort of thing with a bunch of GoPros on your car.

@@exploreusacitiesyup! With all the cameras, those young "hoods" might think youre a federal agent, best to just keep going when you see questionable activities..........East St. Louis doesnt have a lot of nice homes, like other parts of Illinois does.
