I was born in Alton and lived there until I was 17. The last time I visited was in the early 80’s. A lot of changes but many things are the same. I remember some of the streets and some of the buildings. I lived a block from the McPike mansion (haunted) and have great memories of playing there and in the woods. Brought back a lot of memories. Thanks.

Very well done. Great camera quality. I will have to go down these streets now. 😊

@@exploreusacities Hey, love your content, also have you noticed that some of the roads go up on a steep incline? Isn't Alton just fantastic?

At 1:50, across the street and to the right, you actually drove by a historical site, with the low grey rock walls and brick paving. That is where the Lincoln Douglas debate was held.

Thanks for your effort. That is an incredible amount of brick roads.

It really is! And the elevation changes are wild! Very steep roads. I bet it's hell when it snows.

Being next to the Mississippi River, the higher the elevation the better! Bluffs country up and down the river intermixed with flood plains!

I used to live in the nearby town called Jerseyville. I forgot how ugly that all looks, especially in winter. Thankfully, I've been in Arizona for the last 23 years.
