This is an amazing feature. The only problem I'm having is the clarity of the picture when you zoom in. The resolution doesn't seem to be high enough to read street signs, etc. I tried this on Mercer Street in NYC. Otherwise, great job Google!

quasez54 I am SO WITH YOU - I was so angry that they took this away. Now when in street view following directions is completely impossible :( Sadly they have now done away with the old version so now we are STUCK with the new crappy one.

would be nice if i could customize optional routes on surface street. example. i have direction to go to 710 n euclid anaheim, ca that drives by disneyland, and i dont like driving by Disneyland, is too busy and google does not give me different route. google does not tell me to try taking Magnolia or take Euclid to avoid Disneyland, but suggest only La Palma which drives by Disneyland. I have bad experiences using disneyland area, I went a beauty store there and they say to use such and such parking, but the store did not tell me that the parking lot belongs to disneyland, and they charge 16 dollars for few hours. now you have pay parking to shop? the purchasing would be around 7 dollars. nonsense paying 16 dollars for parking besides the crowd, the hassles

Yep. I was on a date, and the guy asked me if if had swimming pool. before he met he was scanning every single bldg home roof, and this was about 15 years ago. he said he was pilot and he has this habit to have aerial view.
