It's funny that you talk about parking because we're doing it as a couple so unless the order is not ready I don't even have to park. Some of the orders with multiple drinks can be hard for one person however.

Uber Eats Tips 1. Busy Days Thurs-Sun 2. Go out during Football Match days 3. Dinner rush 5pm-9pm 4. Weekends 7pm-9pm/9pm-11pm 5. Be around the restaurants. All very good tips! I'd like to add - yeah, stay in a high density area, but also stay in the SAME high density area as much as possible. There are many advantages to being ultra familiar with your delivery area: - repeat customers (bigger tips) - you know which restaurants to avoid due to long waits - you learn alternate routes - familiarity with where to park

@@YourDriverMike hey Mike so I have some questions for you. Hope you can help me. So I just started driving for Uber eats about 2 weeks ago. I've only gone out twice so far. So I got a delivery for a half hour away on my first time delivering. The second time I started up I got a delivery for a half hour away again. I just want to know what is a good amount to accept the order? Like for instance should I accept it if it's $14 or $11? Keep in mind that gas prices here in my city are $6.50 a gallon. So I just wonder if it's really worth going all that way.
@boohere22 жыл бұрын
@dan Koerner, I think I should honestly go to a busier city like San Francisco. The problem is though I don't have time to drive all that way. I do see opportunities offered by Uber eats that give you more money but they are so far away from me. 😔

If you're driving with Uber eats ( not ride share ) you can have a companion with you, they can keep food safe, drive and protect the car while food is being delivered etc; we've had great success ( my daughter and myself ) and average $40 hourly during the week and more on weekends! Just make sure to stick to Covid safety rules!! ( Both of you! We never take our masks off even while driving and whoever delivers food to the door wears gloves! We also have a fresh box of kleenex that we use to open anydoors to businesses, then sanitize once we're back in the car. This provides safety, even in more hazard areas and the car is never left alone!

Declining orders based on distance is a great tip! I would also look at the minutes that it will take and if it's less than 20 and >$10 that is my sweet spot. Also, I've found that you should forget about the bad promotions. If they are asking you to do 16 orders in 3 hours, this is really difficult in practice. You may find it isn't worth it because you will probably be accepting tiny dollar values to attempt it, which if you aren't successful, will decrease your wage. Addionally, remember which restaurants in your area where you have to wait! Decline these orders the next time you see them. In my city, taco bell makes you fill up cups, and some fast food places make the order when you get there. Decline restaurants like this.
@monkeyhihi3 жыл бұрын
I only use a ratio of minutes/pay when doing orders. $7.50/15m, $10/20m, $20/40m, it all equals out to $30 an hour :)

Great tips, but you have 5 - 10 seconds to decide whether to accept another order or not, and you suggest using a different app to see where the location is first before accepting? On top of that, you are probably driving at the time, so I think that would be pretty much impossible to do in the time frame you have.

I start Uber Eats next week. Doordash gives the driver 39 seconds to accept the order. Does Uber Eats really allow only 10 to 15 seconds to accept the order before the app passes it to the next closest driver? That sounds rough to me.

I actually like to look for the longer rides and the ones that actually do take me out further. I don't like traffic, and I hate trying to find a park. And on the longer rides I can just chill listening to music, instead of being more stressed in the denser areas and starting and stopping every 5 to 10 minutes, and all the traffic noise, and smell, and too many people everywhere. I'd rather a smoother, more enjoyable experience while getting paid something like $20ph, then a more stressful or frustrating experience for $25ph. But that's just me.

About going to the bathroom. It wouldn't be good to bring your pack in with you to use the bathroom, especially since you are likely going to have to set it down on the floor inside the bathroom stall. So are restaurants good about letting you keep your bag at the counter or some place where you can put it while you use the bathroom? I think that restaurants should have a rack for delivery people to put their bags on where no one else can steal it.

Thank you for this video. Do you happen to know how you can be on a phone call and still hear calls on Uber eats driver app? I noticed if I'm on a call or if I have another app open like email I do not get notifications of navigation or any new orders. Thank you for your time.

Same happening in NJ right now. They are paying super low. Like $3 and $3.85 orders and you have to drive a lot and wait. Sucks!!!

I'm in Houston and they're currently doing the same. I guess a little "hack" to that is just take the ones that will definitely keep you close to your hot zone. I know one night the biggest payout I had was about $7.50 and that's with tip. I did about 21 deliveries($3 each time) basically back to back and would get $3-$4 tips for just being friendly and fast. So if you're super strategic then you can walk away with a little bit of cash. Also, faking it to make it helps. Lol.
@str8frmthacr84 жыл бұрын
@Roy Berg yea. At first I didn't wanna turn anything down and thought you could get in trouble for doing so. UNTIL...I had a request that was a 68 minute round trip for about $11 and they didn't tip. After that I learned to pick and choose pretty fast. Lol

Tip: dress professionally, eg: about as well as you would dress to dine at the average restaurant you pick up from. And be positive and friendly! I hate seeing delivery drivers sulking and dressed like slobs. It makes us all look bad.

Yes! My mom thinks I’m crazy but I always try to dress nice/casual and do my makeup. I swear everyone is just more nicer and tips increase, even if you’re not interacting with your customers you’re always being watched with rings, etc.

Just remember when driving Uber or Uber eats or any of the platforms what you make is really not what you make your car is your overhead gas maintenance wear and tear etc. It’s still good but I read a comment where people are saying they made this much money in this many hours but I think you’re forgetting to deduct are overhead.

Hey is it the same when you leave the app running while you wait for orders and let’s say you watch videos while parked or you’ll get a higher chance just sitting on the app?

Hi Mike. Thanks for your tips. What do you know about insurances? I understand many insurance companies don't protect you working for UBER.

Not sure if you still need an answer, but where I am, the only company that will cover you is Progressive. I'm about to switch to them, and it will only cost me about 35 bucks more a month than what I'm paying now.

I kindly disagree with this strategy for people who want to work full time. Fine for part time like you mention. As someone who knows a thing or two about software...it's programmed to calculate your acceptance rate. The system tracks everything from declining orders to even orders that you fail to accept or decline while the software is on. Cherry picking orders will probably lower your chance at receiving the maximum number of assignments in the future. If someone is accepting all orders with zero bias regardless of price and/or difficulty they will be getting the most assignments.

I don't know about that. I never have problems cherry picking my orders and not get any deliveries. I refuse to go 20 away from my busy spot for $6. Or something to that affect.

NOt sure... We cherry pick all the time after we learned how

What you say makes sense. I’ve worried about this. I hope they didn’t design this software that way. But I do notice that when I accept orders, I get more orders, and when I decline orders, it always feels like I missed my chance. Nothing else comes for a long time.
@saynotohookups2 жыл бұрын
@@sohelpmee It should be realistic though. People shouldn't be punished like that. Like the guy said above why go a long distance just for $6 especially if you don't get any orders on the way back to your regular spot.

Hello, I'm new to uber eats as well and i have a question about something you mentioned If i get two orders at once it tells me say 15.00 I take it, deliver the first order but the second order ( which I didn't know where was actually going) it's like faraway but i'm already stuck with the food. How can I tell if i should get the second order or not from the very beginning

@@EdsHouse00 thanks! The place where I was working began to use Door Dash and they were giving it hot bags so I snatched one. Sometimes you’re right but I’ve been finding a lot of use for it. Not only does it protect my interior from spills but there are occasions like with most fast food and pizza where it definitely keeps things warm and it looks a little more professional to have when I’m actually delivering so I definitely use it

@Your driver Mike I haven't started yet with my first order and haven't received my card to be able to purchase foods, how does the personal cash work? I use my personal cash to pay for the order, but how would I get paid back? I'm very confused, but I would love to be able to start if possible while I'm waiting for my card.
