Drove that road in 1987, on a computer conf. in Montreux we rented a car and drove a roundtrip Montreux-Martingny-Brig-Gletch-Innertkirchen-Interlaken-Spiez-Gstaad-Montruex. Stayed in Hotel Exelcior where you pass at 1:14:54. Thanks for reminding me!

Very familiar terrain, lived near Aigle several years and did the Col du Pillon when going to the Glacier 3000. From Villeneuve to Lausanne is my favorite region of western Switzerland: it's by the lake, close to the mountains, near the French border, halfway between Genève and Bern and only about 3 hours away from Italy... if I ever get a chance of living in Switzerland again I don't want to live anywhere else, it's a nice lovely corner!

Thank you for the lovely run. It’s probably as close to the real thing as I’ll get to actually being in Switzerland. I would love to go there some day to experience the high mountain passes and travel on a gondola or a mountain railway to over 10,000 feet. I live in a beautiful place but the mountains here in Scotland are only 3,000 feet.

I have dreamed all my life, and I still dream of leaving Switzerland and living there until my last breath, but unfortunately my illness does not allow this, what a pity I am, how a pity. But someday GOD will take pity on me and smile looking at me, who knows, who knows. If someone gave me a house in a beautiful Swiss village, I would gladly accept such a generous gift, and immediately leave Switzerland for no reason at all. But you, in your life, did not have such a kind to give a person who is not needed to give a house and even in Switzerland, especially to a sick person.

Every time I see Swiss cities, as well as small towns and villages in the mountains, I so want to leave Switzerland and buy myself a house in the mountains in the countryside. I have dreamed all my life and still dream to leave Switzerland, but unfortunately my illness does not allow me to do this, how sorry I am, how sorry I am. The history is also really interesting; google has lots of info on the cities; long before my country was even discovered!!! Lake Geneva is huge, but where were all the boats? What's also nice about Europe is that they don't try to fleece you at every turn: the cappuccino I bought on that train (delivered to my seat) cost the same as at a random street corner cafe.
