The entire drive from Naples to Miami, Florida in January 2023. The entire journey took just over 2 hours & 15 minutes. I start off in the Tin City area of Old Naples and end in Downtown Miami next to the Freedom Tower. This drive takes you across the coast of Florida, from the West to the East, and through the Florida Everglades. From Naples I take Interstate 75, nicknamed Alligator Alley, to Routes 826 and 836.

I did it and you end up in a bad section of Miami. I drove it in the 70s when it was the only route. The new 75 wasn't built yet, the old one is home to Florida panthers drive slowly, I love them.

Since I got my car in 2021, all my road trips so far had been on the Turnpike to go between Coral Springs and Orlando. Next weekend, however, I'll be driving down this road for the first time for a convention in Tampa next weekend, so I'm happy I stumbled upon this video. Very clean footage. No unnecessary music. 10/10.

11:57 Alligator Alley! 🐊 You're so thoughtful to include an alligator picture on the thumbnail, knowing that we won't see one on this drive. 🤣 It was nice to see the sunset sky colors and how it got dark quickly. 1:59:30 Oh, the joys and frustrations of missing the exit and to be rerouted, but we get to see more of Downtown Miami. 😅 Thank you for sharing this relaxing night drive, AK! 🤗

First I want to emphasize to you again….I-75 / SR-84 is the only Alligator Alley. US-41 / Tamiami Trail has never been called alligator alley. Alligator Alley, or known as I-75 now, it is referred to by true locals/Floridians as “the Alley”. Which used to be a 2 lane, and some referred to it as Blood Alley because there were so many killed on it. For many years several times a year when my father was frogging, we would sleep on the ground next to a fire on the side of the Alley, on the Broward County side. At night there were no cars on the Alley, and occasionally a Game Worden would stop in and have some coffee. My mother would stay with me at camp, and my father and brother went out frogging most of the night. As I got older, my Dad took me with him too. Both my Mom and Dad had old style western gun belts on, my mom with her 38 Special and Dad with his 357 magnum. It was definitely a different world back the , one I wish it still was. So I don’t know who told you that Tamiami Trail was the original Alligator Alley, but they were wrong. If a computer or book told you that, then whoever entered it into the computer is wrong. My grandfather help build Tamiami Trail, not to mention brought the first electric lines into Miami. My family has resided in Florida, for almost 250 years. My Cousins had some of the first commercial shops in Naples. So now with that fixed, you videos, this one and your previous ones are very nice. People are able to get a great visual of the area. Now Naples IS NOT ALL rich people as it may seem. The area to your left from when you get on the Alley is known as Golden Gate Estates, but still have a mailing address using Naples as the town. Now there are some very rich homes there, but mostly working low/middle class live there. There are several areas that are low income housing apartments in Naples. Some across the street from multi million dollar housing areas. Crazy. I hate the progress/building going on in Naples, as now it’s moved out East where I am. I moved where I am 40years ago, my closest neighbor was 1 mile away, and I had to drive 15 miles to get a gallon of milk at a convenient store. I loved it. We truly had the country life in the woods. Then Hurricane Andrew happened and the influx of people into my area was huge. It used to be you couldn’t build on anything less than 2.25 acres. Now they let you build on a band aid lot which is just over an acre. Here in the GG Estates I’m speaking. So now you have houses building right next to each other. So very sad. We still have the bear, deer, bobcats, coyote, panther/mountain lions in our yards. However now they will many times bother livestock and domesticated animals, because their habitat has been destroyed with so many bulldozing the trees. I will commend Collier County though, as they do have laws where there must be a certain amount of landscape greenery when you build. That helps it not be all concrete. One other note, Alligator Alley used to be a very narrow 2 lane, smaller than the one way 2 lane you traveled home on. And if you didn’t know there are very deep and wide canals on both sides of the Alley. And one more thing, the traffic you encountered in Naples, and the Alley is not the normal. Usually very congested in that part of Naples, and the Alley. Looking forward to other videos of yours. Look into visiting the small town of Everglades City, FL. It used to be the County Seat of Collier County. The Court House and Jail used to be there. The original Court House is still there, at the circle. In the 1920’s-1940’s it was a very happening place. The rail road came right into Everglades City. Now it’s a beautiful little fishing village type town, with a population of about 600. It’s taken several hits from hurricanes over the past 16 years. There are some great spots to eat: Triad Seafood and Camelia Street Grill. If you like Stone Crabs, no better place than getting them there, as they get them fresh off the crab boats when they come in. Winter is the best time to go, as summer there are a lot of bugs. There is an annual Seafood Festival coming up this weekend 13, 14, and 15th in Everglades City. They have large amounts of booths that sell food, art and crafts, etc and live music all day. approximately 10,000 people a day head into the little town (Sat & Sun) to enjoy the festival. Looks to be beautiful days for the festival this year.

@Action Kid, I don't think it's going to happen, as Naples seems (to me) to be a town and not a major city that Brightline would want to build a rail line to. Of course, I could be mistaken and Brightline might do this, but right now, I see what I see, and I don't see Brightline building a line to (and a station in) Naples.

Ernst, why was it 'painful' for you to watch Action Kid drive back to Miami? And why exactly are you watching it anyway?🙄 This is how most of us here in North America travel, and we're used to doing this, so I don't see why this is 'painful' for you, or why you expect everyplace on Earth to have the same passenger rail infrastructure as where you are in Europe (Florida _is_ building a rail system that will connect its biggest cities, said rail system run by Brightline Industries, so there will be rail travel in the future; hopefully, that will ease your 'pain'.)
