You can only do your practical driving with your instructor from driving school here in Germany. It is illegal to do practical driving with a friend or whoever has German license even within your house or parking space.

Guess you misunderstood it, Theory and practical exams both are mandatory but it’s not mandatory to attend theory classes and additionally one don’t need to attend mandatory practical classes as well. If you are an expert, you can drive 2-3 classes and take up the exam
