it it is such a pleasure that I young man finds interest and delight in cars from the 60ies and 70ies. you have more clicks on your videos of new mercedes and minis, but you seem to understand that the soul was taken from these machines by all kind of assistance systems, that make a ride with them feel like a video game played on a couch. also, your films are well made and cut and entertaining to watch. please keep providing insides from the world of classic alfas and lancias. greetings from vienna, paul

@@AshrafonCars, the Fulvia is one of my favourite cars of all time, to say that I enjoyed it would be an understatement.

Love the video - your enthusiasm shines through. I had a Series 1 in the late 80s. They are very well built (more like a contemporary Mercedes in that respect than other Italian cars). I’d use words like delicate, balanced, jewel-like engine, great handling and most of all fun to drive as you use the great-sounding engine to power it through the corners. You’re lucky to have a Series 1, which had a nicer gearbox and generally felt better built and better quality than the later cars: very much an engineer’s car if that makes sense. I also had a later 1600 Zagato, which was better in a lot of ways, though it had lost some of the delicacy and quality feel of the Series 1. The steering does have some play around the centre position, but it shouldn’t be anything like as much as on the video. Performance should be very similar to a Giulia Coupe (1300 version), so either that saloon is non-stock or you’re down on power on the Fulvia. I’m very envious of you, having sold mine many years ago: may you have many years’ enjoyment of the Fulvia. Best of luck with it - I honestly think it one of the very best cars there is for driving pleasure. Enjoy!

Please do a head to head comparison of the Fulvia and the giulia. What are the differences, what you like more about each car, what not etc. I was struggling to decide wether to get a fulvia or a giulia, in the end I happened to find a fulvia but still I am very interested in the Alfa aswell. Alfa Junior vs fulvia would be very interesting I guess but the Giulia is technically not much different so that would also do. Keep up the good stuff!
@AshrafonCars3 жыл бұрын
Definitely planning on that when the Fulvia is finished! My initial impression is that the Fulvia is the more delicate, civilized car to drive - more comfortable and lighter on its feet with narrow wheels and tyres. But the Giulia is more aggressive and more rewarding when driven hard, mostly thanks to the Alfaholics wheels and suspension I've fitted.

All Fulvia steering boxes are a bit "vague" on the straight ahead, and it takes a bit of adjustment to if you're used to a modern steering rack. She was designed for cornering, and the steering is a utter delight with the way it both weights up and deliciously centres when doing a "helmsman" hoon.
@AshrafonCars4 жыл бұрын
Yep, the thing whips right back to centre! I'll be using the adjustment screw on the box to dial out most of the play.

Like you Ashraf I too have a Giulia 1300 TI, although a PO did it up as a Giulia Super inc a 1600 engine. I have driven a Fulvia although it was some years ago now. I used to own a 1750 GTV S1 which was a really great drivers car. However, if you ever get the chance to drive a Fiat AC 124 sport you will find it’s comparable and equally special as both the Fulvia and GTV. I have owned my AC for 40 years so I have some experience re such cars. Nice to see your Fulvia up and running.👍

A man of fine taste! 😄 I'd love to try a 124 sport one day, Fiat made rampant little cars back then.
@1240enzo4 жыл бұрын
For sure if you can I am sure you would enjoy a drive in a nicely sorted 124 Sport, bearing in mind they are really rare these days. Thanks I have had quite a fleet of interesting Fiats and Alfas over the years, let alone driven so many other makes of classics. I am also into bikes these days and have a Ducati Monster 620 which is a pretty cool "modern" (mine is already 14 years old) take on the old bevel Ducs of the '70s.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.:-((
