My old man had one of these when I was 15yo. Same colour and everything. It's how I learned to drive a stick. Sometimes I used to just go into the garage and just sit in it. I loved the gauges inside, the huge lump in the bonnet and the squat stance of it. Now I'm 40yo and I think I'm going to buy one just so I can park it in the garage and admire it.

what a nice story! :) all of us car enthusiasts have our core memories that made us fall in love with cars! My first own manual car was my 981 Boxster S in the absolute lowest spec in existence... I loved it so much and I learned to do heel and toe downshifting with it. good times!

Mister, thank you for generously sharing your classic M Coupe with us. The music of the quad exhaust surpasses _anything else_ you could have used as accompaniment to that drive. I first fell in love with this endearing "clown shoe" when they were first brought into the U.S. (1999?) and BMW was hosting a "see and drive" event; they had samples of just about their whole line and my wife and I immediately gravitated to the Roadster and the Coupe. We both were able to drive each one on a prescribed 7 or 8 mile highway route; no dinky little backlot asphalt course. For a modest (for today) 250 hp engine they really had some grunt. The Coupe, however, was the one we swooned over. I wish I would have just hocked everything of value I had to purchase one of these. Now, after most people eschewed them because of their unique styling they are becoming near collectable, and of course are super rare around here, now. Is yours stock? It looks immaculate and so well taken care of, but not babied, obviously. As an old guy now and an inveterate worrier, I would encourage you to take it just a liiiiitle bit slower when you're flanked by trees and fields. I would truly hate to see you have a run-in with a confused and indecisive deer or other animal. Anyway, it was a treat to watch, thank you very much! It will be on a regular Repeat mode.

Grew up with these as a child. Dad had a yellow, black, red and blue one as company cars. (He worked for BMW). Absolutely loved them.

An (now old guy in the town where I grew up has a Z3 M Coupe. I remember he bought it new in the 90`s when I was a child and still in school. That was one of the coolest cars in our small town (every one else was just driving a Golf :D). Sometimes when I visit my parants during summer, I still see the car in front of his house. Today he only drives it in summer for fun. But he has it since 25 years now and still takes care of it. It always looks like new when I see it.

Beautiful car! I had an emola (sp?) red 2000 Z3M for about 3 years. For the most part, trouble free and lovely to drive...and look at! Sold it to buy the younger brother, a Z4 coupe. Still, awkward looking (to some?) But the dna is apparent and i love it too. Take care of her!

@@prashanthp5448 Those are stock wheels unique to the M Coupé, they are called M Roadstar & are a staggered profile (225/45ZR17 in the front and 245/40ZR17 in the rear). S52/S50 had the Chromeline finish & the S54 had the Chrome Shadow finish.

Absolut phantastisches Video. 🎉 Wunderschönes Auto. Tolle Fotos und grandiose Blickwinkel. ABER: wie bei jedem deiner Videos finde ich ein NO-GO! 😅 Wer mit solch einer Espressomaschine den Clip startet, und dann solch einen schlechten Bezug zeigt samt Milchaufschäumen und versuchter Latte Art… der muss in der Praxis der Kaffeezubereitung noch mal nachsitzen. 😂 Vielleicht treffen wir uns mal bei Gelegenheit - dann zeige ich dir wie das richtig geht. @@BB-tb9ih Haha, the Z3 M-Coupe was very controversial with its design, wich gave it its Nickname "the clownshoe" It didnt sell well back then and now its one of the rarest bmw‘s ever. I wouldnt call it my favourite Design, but its very unique and fun to drive. Plus it's very practical for what it is😅
