I was like you so I started my own CDL trucking school training students for type A so with what ever knowledge I had I took it to another level bought a 9 speed international single axel and a27 ft trailer single axel by word of mouth I got hooked up with the military still training and in the mean while teaching how to drive 2 stick 5/4 split shift it’s not all that you know wear and tear is what kills me but it makes me happy to know that my student is going to take to another level you awesome and hard working driver follow your dream don’t follow or look back listening to your instincts to what can motivate your self to do always keep money aside for emergency 🆘 ❤❤

And I don't claim to be smart or anything, but I think I'd hold off for a while on buying your own truck, especially where you seem to have a good relationship with your brother and he's keeping you rolling. I've been all over this country in a truck, some as just a driver, and some as an owner/operator but I went out on my own in 1978 in a '65 Mack, so I understand your desire to do your own thing and commend you for that, but things have changed A LOT since then, and right now this country is in a very insecure place if you ask me. Retired OTR here. Used to run US395 all the way from Hesperia, Ca to Alturas,Ca. Then jump over to Klamath Falls, Oregon and pick up US97 and take it to Oregon 58 then all the way to Eugene Oregon/I5. Was one of my favorite routes. If you have not been on US395 in Cali I would highly recommend it. Not too many trucks and a scenic ride.

Back in the day in the 60’s the shipper would start making the bottles when we hit the dock. They would use the truck as their warehouse, but they would make the bottles as we loaded, never waited for product. 1 gallon milk bottles are made very quickly and take a lot of space fast.
