My husband is a trucker. He's local here in California. We love the bay for visits to the ocean obviously.... however he delivers there quite often. One of his delivery's is in a basement that is very tiny and you must be very skilled to pull off not hitting anything its so tiny. It used to have a medal turn table to help maneuver the trucks once down their but that's broken so it makes it even harder. I'm so impressed by his ability to maneuver several trailers once down their. I'd like to go with him again and film it. You did great.

Yep I retired at 62 from Truck Driving after 26 years OTR. I had a few months of California deliveries and reloads but started refusing to go to California because the people were a holes, the roads were terrible and the bridges were very bumpy. Plus fuel was expensive.

I remember stopping at the "Rip Griffin's" truck stop in Barstow. It was like it's own little town. Big mall type shopping area with pretty much any kind of store imagineable. The parking lot was so big they had a little bus that would pick you up and bring you to the stores ! That was back in '92 though.

I know you know your stuff but travelling across the 15 from Vegas to Cali in the summer just make sure you have enough water and some stuff for you and the dogs in case the truck breaks down .

When delivering in unfamiliar cities I made a habit of phoning the receiver for directions, then checking the directions on a map to make sure they matched. Any time the directions included the phrase, “You can’t miss it”, well, that was the directional kiss of death. What non truckers don’t understand is the truck payments don’t stop when the truck is parked for a day waiting on a poorly planned construction project. Wheels that don’t turn don’t earn. There are probably worse cities to deliver in….but none come to mind! Love your channel. ♥️

Why are some people hostile and sick towards drivers? I'm a Amazon driver and some people can be ass holes towards us. They've called me "dumbass", "anyone can do your job", "stupid", yet I'm the one who delivers the products they order. Also I guess they don't realize that a lot of people are behind the work I do. Logistics, management, tech, mechanics, warehouse workers, packagers, thousands of families. Deliver people are the front end of all the work that goes into getting what you need. So I don't really care what they have to say about my job cus I know the value and impact that it really has.

Hey Becca. From one driver to another, you should call the location's number in this delivery situation. Most, not all places, on their automated answering system, will have a selection for directions to the place. Some that don't, you can still contact them, ask for the shipping/receiving dept and they are usually very familiar with the correct way to make it into your destination. Haha, of course! I did call him multiple times even on Sunday before the delivery. The guy didn’t call back Sunday. Then I got a hold of him after awhile on Monday. But he had no urge the first couple calls to tell me what to do. I had to keep calling and asking. I always scope out my deliveries days before hand so I know if I need to call for directions or not! Smartest way to go.

Right on - as someone who lives in the area I rarely see big rigs in the city - they're mostly in the eastbay by the Port of Oakland, or San Jose. It's a bit how some truckers dislike driving in NYC, you've got one way streets and confined areas. We used to get deliveries in SF, but they were with smaller Mitsubishi type trucks. I do see many trucks parked/loaded up with shipping containers by the Port of Oakland, I'm not a truck driver myself, but appreciate the work you all do.

Had to smile when you backed that semi in nice work. Delivered an AC compressor and it had to be lifted to the third floor roof. I sweated that but your lift was awesome. Back in 2005 was sent to SF to deliver the last 2 pallets of delivery to hair salon place. As soon as you get into the city, you quickly realize San Francisco was not made for semi trucks to enter. What we needed was a box truck to make that delivery not a 53’ semi & trailer. 12 yrs later, I live out here & no longer a OTR trucker. Not worth the pay, the hassle & away from any family. Great video but at Stateline you should of went across the freeway from where's you got your diesel and you could let your dog out on real grass. I know it's a hard time between Stateline and Barstow with the hills. You seem to be a very good driver and please stay safe and really enjoy your great videos.

I remember when there was a truck stop on Bayshore, down towards Candlestick, but it went away 25 years ago. There also used to be one near Oakland, but it's nothing but a fuel stop now: I don't think they even have a CAT scale anymore. "Drive around non-chalantly"...in San FranFreakShow, with a semi...yeah... That city - and its people HATE trucks. That's why they make it impossible for trucks to get around - or even park, there. They still want their crap & demand that you deliver on their doorstep, but God help you if you so much as need to use a restroom. ...$1.06 per mile from there to TN!?!?!? Everytime some idiot tries throwing a load like that at me, I don't even hesitate to tell them to get effed!

That’s a bummer they cost y’all some money. I made weekly deliveries to L.A. from Eastern WA for a few months. The people were a holes, too many hrs waiting in lines. Roads were terrible and bridges were bumpy. I refused to go there. Then found a dedicated weekly route From WA to Montana and loved it for many years.
