danger can be any city, but the whole country of Mexico is not like "Narcos' on Netflix. you should always avoid certain high crime areas, especially at night, just as you would in NYC or Chicago. This is awesome. I hope you guys have a great trip. I've seen hundreds of these vanlife in Mexico videos, so I am hoping you guys stay safe. I have yet to see a channel that does not have a break in or shady dudes at night video at some point.

I’m watching this a year later, but wanted to thank you for showing the beauty of Mexico, the interior and Baja of Mexico is amazing and the people are gracious and lovely! I’m sorry for their troubles, mainly in the border areas, but you both have such an amazing capacity for showing everyone the best of the countries and the folks who live there, it is completely heart warming!

Hope you guys have an amazing time in Mexico 🇲🇽!!! Don’t let the comments of Mexico being unsafe get to you but also, don’t forget to stay aware and stay in touristy areas.
@livableincome2 жыл бұрын
I think staying away from touristy areas is safer. Cacun and Acapulco have bad raps.
@ashtonclark40392 жыл бұрын
@@livableincome I disagree. Research shows most crime that happens in Mexico is between Mexicans in non touristy cities. Tourism brings in the most money for the country, so they try to protect touristy areas the best. I’ve traveled Mexico 4 times and honestly felt safer there than I do in the states.
@livableincome2 жыл бұрын
@@ashtonclark4039 My experience was we were safer away from fellow tourists as many behave badly and think they can do anything they want away from home. Wild drunken morons. If you look at crime reports, Cancun is notorious and Acapulco was extremely dangerous when we were researching where to go. Even Mexicans avoided it. Maybe things have changed there, I don't know. By the way, the only time I got food poisoning is when we visited a lavish resort in Mazatlan for one of those silly time share lectures. And I found it really offensive they made it like a racist gated community and locals weren't allowed in. What is the point of travel if you don't meet the locals and get to know them?
@livableincome2 жыл бұрын
@I AM Where is here? If you are in the States, you must know how dangerous it is to Latin Americans. I refused to live there because I would not let my son be subjected to that level of racism, descrimination and violence. Here in Canada, things could still get bad, but far more subtle than the states. It is pretty darn bad for Indigenous to here folks though. Why does everywhere have to be so dangerous if you are even slightly brown skinned? May karma prevail.
@dcarts56162 жыл бұрын
@@livableincome I don’t know where you lived in the US but when I was there it was only dangerous in the neighborhoods where one lived. Out and about it was fine for us. Crime statistics show that as you put it “brown people” are more likely to be violently attacked by other “brown people” (your words). The lighter skinned people were also more likely to be violently attacked by “brown people” (your words) so I do not know what you’re talking about other than apparently you like many just regurgitating the nonsense being peddled by state run Pravda media in the US. Such a shame…

Thank you for sharing the beautiful parts of Mexico!! I grew up in San Diego with the majority of my family in Mexico, I always felt that Mexico was extremely underrated because everyone seemed scared to travel there. It's great to see content highlighting its good side :) p.s. love your videos!

So many people were discouraging about my drive down to Cabo! Got there safely and with little issues. We drove in without a FMM and I was able to leave by getting one at the airport on my way home. It was no biggie.

I am glad you did not let people's comments prevent you from taking this trip. Mexico in general is great! every country has its issues, as long as you're not looking for trouble you won't have to worry about it. Mexicans are some of the warmest, friendliest, happiest and most hospitable people we've ever encountered. It's a cultural thing, "Mi casa es tu casa". I love your videos!! :D

@GreatWhiteBuckwheat Anyone that knows the business knows that out of every 100 test drill sites, only about 2 have a positive production outcome. Plus the 5,000 permits you are quoting is over a 20 year period? (or more) Do your research and don't rely on the fake news. Gas prices were stable before Biden took his up his pen.
@TexasRoadrunners2 жыл бұрын
@GreatWhiteBuckwheat A so called drilling permit does not give them permit to drill. It gives them permission to "explore". Once they find oil they have to get more permit along with the equipment, land owners permission, county & state regulations, etc.

On your next trip you can buy it on line first but of course don't forget to get it stamped if driving through. Another little tip, when you are closer to customs going into the US they can hear your conversations in your vehicle. In my almost 3 yrs of living there in Puerto Nuevo, I never went to Guadalupe. It is beautiful! Will have to go next time I visit. Sunsets in Baja are almost as stunning as here in Puerto Vallarta! 🎴Glad you enjoyed your trip there and didn't let the fear propaganda scare you. I crossed myself on foot maybe 20 times at all hours and travelled in taxi vans home. People were always helpful and made you feel welcome.

Entering Tijuana has always been easy in my experiences! Leaving, however, is another story. I’ve waited in our car at the border line for 8 hours once. 😳😂 But on average, I wait three hours. I’ve entered the US from Tecate once and it was only an hour or so. 🇲🇽

3 times in the 70’s my parents drove us to Mexico (not Baja) from Minnesota towing a tent trailer. The adventure was unreal even for a kid. Soak it all in - I feel like it is as safe as anywhere else you have been - My memories are the small things - darting out of the rain into a local restaurant and them standing on a table to plug in the blender to make sauce for our enchiladas. Getting sun burned on the beach where the movie 10 was set - shopping in local markets … and always nice people in the camp grounds.
