Wow, this is a blast from the past!! I remember how Maureen became quite a celebrity due to this show as a result. How brave of Maureen to keep going with her attempts and being filmed whilst doing so. I believe she did eventually pass in the automatic and although she was mocked and ridiculed, she showed such tenacity and perseveration....brilliant.

It doesn't matter how old you are. It depends how old and what type of car your first car was. I still have an old Tomos moped with a choke and without a starter motor or indicators that I bought in 2011 for €50.

In all fairness, society has gone to shit since people stopped disciplining their kids properly, not to mention thst young lads drive like complete bell ends and need more than a word to adjust their horrendous driving. Danny's girlfriend was obviously a cheat, but then the way he INSTRUCTED her to tell him how much she loves him in episode one wasn't his best move...mote than a bit needy lol.

your right about the lada . i remember borrowing my mates lada riva while mine was getting fixed in the late 90s and god it was a terrible car the steering was really heavy the clutch was heavy and the gears was like it was set in concrete . maybe they can sell thier car to a russian mafia boss who can get enough of these shit cars

It's a crap car all round. They actually still make modern Ladas and the Russian police use them. I think the modern ones are actually kind of decent, not these old ones. Russian police also use Fords, mind you, totally solid cars.

Van driver should have yielded, just because some other moron doesn't know the rules of the road and blasts his horn doesn't mean a fail.... However, I did agree thst he should have failed on that manouvre as he didn't even look that way before starting his manouvre.

@@grizzlygamer8891 your comment doesn’t make any sense , The van driver blasted his horn because he was coming first before Danny even started to move then Danny started to. Reverse back and nearly reversed in to him the examiner and Danny both jumped out of their skin , Danny never once did blind spot check and because Danny didn’t even know the van was there is the reason we are saying he should gave him a fail because if it takes the other driver to need to blast his horn for you to know he’s there he clearly hadn’t looked behind or check before maneuvering . Thats what me and Amanda are saying so you,obviously don’t know how to drive your self

i don't know how Danny passed because he didn't even see the van coming behind him when he was reversing and only knew he was there when it beeped at him . He didn't even look the other way he never looked right once thats an automatic fail in my eyes also thats the same guy who did Maureen's tests when the only thing i seen maureen fail on was she stalled once and he kept failing maureen every-time she had him . But yet he passed Danny who i seen make a few mistakes through out his test that is all on camera SEE because the thing is you get some who just automatically don't like you so your on a bound to fail . Plus some the power goes to their head and they just keep failing but so they can keep there job they pass a couple of people every now and then when it shouldn't be like that and when driving instructors constantly complain against a driving examiner they should be investigated with a fully qualified driver put in as a test without them knowing to test them and see how they are with them and if they fail them then you will know its just because they are out to fail people because they get a kick when they can tell someone they have failed . How come then when maureen got a different guy on her 9th test she passed so shows that sometimes it can be down to the fact if an examiner just doesn't like you they will fail you anyway . i got failed on my first test because she said i was doing wrong speed on road she said i was doing 30 on 50 road yeah ordinarily it was 50 road but because of road work and it was down to one single lane it was 30 when it was road work and had signs saying temporary speed 30 on big white circle signs with red out circle and also i got taught by my instructor that road speeds are not a target they are the maximum safe speed for that road and if you do 30 , 35 or 45 in a 50 thats ok because your still with in the limit for that road and not over speeding . But obviously don't go like 15 , 20 or 25 in 50 also the lady examiner i had she had several complaints put in against her and yet she's still able to examine people for their license . Danny's driving Examiner when he was reversing was looking at the floor then to the left and then straight forward he's supposed to have his eyes everywhere so straight away alarm bells should have rung with that examiner that he clearly isn't up to the job and he shouldn't be allowed to actually examine people for there licence after that because he's allowing people on the road who are then putting others lives at risk and he should have been spoken to but then he may have well got a talking to over it . Then Danny started to point out other things he should have failed on when you don't say that to the examiner because he could turn around and say oh actually yeah because of that actually then today on this occasion i'm gonna fail you because that examiner clearly forgot that he did that or didn't notice he did that because he didn't seen to know that Danny had even done that mistake at the round about ....... also I don’t believe these are real test because no one has even realized it’s illegal to film a test because of reasons like this that people are now putting on about how he should have failed him because on the other program the undriveables they say and now off to the test but unfortunately we aren’t allowed to film this part and each episode has a little skit at the fact they cannot film the test and that the learning would be glad you cannot film the test but yet they do here on this program.

It aired in 1997, probably filmed some time late 1996 or early 1997 as I can't see any R reg cars on the road. P was 1996 and there are some of those which would have been brand new at the time. It also aired before the October of 1997 because it's still got the old BBC branding which was replaced by the balloon at that point.
