I binged on these videos leading up to my test because i failed my first one without much prep, these videos helped me so much. For those who are trying to pass i would always practice your turnabout, reverse around the corner and hill start. However for me reading the road is the most important, anticipate hazards in advance so you are prepared to react. You can't prepare for every hazard so you have to use your intuition. For example when you see kids playing near the footpath, go slow and keep a good distance. You're examiner will see that you are anticipating. I knew i was ready for the test however i kept thinking the only way i'm going to fail this is from an automatic fail, be on Red alert for such scenarios such as.. 1. When the light turns amber make sure you stop unless you're going at a pace. 2. Overtaking when there are parked cars on your side, if there is on coming traffic make sure you wait, put on your indicator and wait for some space. Overtaking cars on your side when there are cars coming (when it's very tight) could lead to a fail. 3. Stop Sign.....Stop Another piece of advice is to obviously know the possible routes, it may be impossible to prepare for everything however you can prepare for the first five or so obstacles. That may be getting out of the test centre, the junction, the roundabout... these first obstacles will always be there so nail them 100%, you're confidence will grow and that matters a lot when you do your turnabout, reverse around the corner etc... I passed this week with no grade threes so i want to thank Dane Tyghe for his help. Safe motoring everyone

Failed today, too close to parked cars, didnt think I was, and too much on the clutch, everything else was perfect! Feel absoultly robbed. Also it seems im one of the few people on the road who actually obey the rules. Cant help but feel completely dishearted! And a little supicious of the center! Which I know sounds like sour grapes but it was a safe well performed test!

There is a cross roads on my test route and I have to turn left. There comes up a green arrow and then a filter light but she said I have to move half way into the box and go but what happens if I DONT have time to go during the filter light and it turns red ??

It really is important to keep left when driving. I was taking a bend yesterday when a larger vehicle coming towards me heavily cut the corner so that half of his car was over the line & on my side of the road. He came so close to hitting me head on, it really knocked the confidence out of me. Had to swerve in & come to a sudden stop, there were 3 cars behind me. It was a 50 zone & he was probably doing 70 + But that person who nearly killed me probably has their full drivers license, it just goes to show you can't trust anyone on the road.

22:35 waiting in 1st gear means you have to hold clutch. i found advice somewhere else to avoid holding clutch pressed.
@DaneTygheletsdrive3 жыл бұрын
Avoid holding the clutch too much if moving, it's perfectly fine to do it when stopped.

I drive an automatic and if I'm waiting to go first in line I have my foot over the break in drive. Would it be better in my scenario that I have the handbrake up in event the car is hit from behind and shunted forward? (Probably a negative scenario to imagine but always expect unexpected!)
@DaneTygheletsdrive4 жыл бұрын
Probably the best thing to do. But if you have the handbrake up and waiting in drive that would be practical.
@liammchugh94393 жыл бұрын
Hey Dane! I'm just wondering is it wrong to press the footbrake when changing gears? I've my driving test tomorrow morning by the way
@DaneTygheletsdrive3 жыл бұрын
In what context? Pressing the brake when changing gears is absolutely essential at times so you have more control on the downhill for example.
@liammchugh94393 жыл бұрын
@@DaneTygheletsdrive Oh I never really thought about that one. I was talking about driving on the straight.

@@DaneTygheletsdrive I failed my driving test by the way. I failed in the first few seconds of the test because I never looked left at a junction! 😭. I made stupid mistakes tbh. I got three grade three marks sadly....and some grade two marks.
@DaneTygheletsdrive3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can brake and change gears on the straight if you need to. The grade 3 marks need to be understood and you need to be focused on learning from them because they're serious mistakes. There's no such thing as failure, you either succeed or you learn so best of luck with your test next time.
@liammchugh94393 жыл бұрын
@@DaneTygheletsdrive Thanks! I was unsure about that one. I booked another test and I will not do it until my instructor feels I am 100% ready. Would you like to see my report sheet (I think that's what its called)? Tbh I made silly mistakes and could've did a lot better. :(

Sorry to hear that, normally they leave a two week gap between tests. If you haven't got a test date reasonably soon then you should ring the RSA and seek a cancellation. Now, say my name.

Hi Dane, I have my test next week and I'm almost 8 months pregnant! Any tips?? Also, if you hit a kerb is it an automatic fail?? Thanks
@DaneTygheletsdrive6 жыл бұрын
Practice, watch these videos and do your best. Hitting the kerb is not an automatic fail as it depends on the situation, if you do make it a mistake don't dwell on it, focus on the next road instead. There's no point in beating yourself up over something that can't be changed. Best of luck with the driving test.
