driving test in eagan

i passed here 3 months ago and it was mostly a non challenging course. a couple thing to look out for and keep in mind 1.stay the speed limit: they will keep an eye out for under speed. a lot of people under speed in fear of speeding and will deduct points. 2. make sure to turn into the proper lane : they get so many people with this one especially on this one-way 8:33. 3. the various parkings: (a) i advise to please study on how to parallel park and practice, you get a lot of wiggle room when you eventually get to it. (b) 90 degree is pretty self explanatory but as far as i know you can pull forward and reposition if need be and you are allowed to use a backup cam as long as the proctor doesnt catch you relying on it. (c) they will make you pull up and park next to a curb on a slanted surface and will check for tire positioning. the way i kept it in mind was "up and away" (wheels away from curb when facing up a hill) and just kept a mental note to do the opposite for downhill cause i couldnt come up with something that was memorable. some of the instructors seem to be irritated but thats not to say there aren't amazing teachers who will help with the nerves if that's something you struggle with.

⁠​⁠@@thelitemajin8777that lane you see him go into was correct since youre supposed to go to the closest lane when turning. that section of road basically exists as a skill and knowledge check cause a lot of nervous teens will turn into one of the 2 middle lanes by mistake.

For parallel parking how much space do the give you?

@@rosele9852 a really good amount honestly. i cant give exact measurements buy if you're driving a sedan or suv you should have give or take 3 feet both in front and behind your car so theres a good amount of wiggle room.

@@1011-h6h-dont quote me and be sure to ask you instructor but its around 25-30mph. now is 5 under too slow? id say yes because my instructor said he wants to see if youre capable of maintaining proper speed on a roadway and they do glance at your speedometer pretty often so i dont think you could cheat your way out of it with like cruise control. yes, you can use the backup cam aslong as they dont catch you staring at the screen the entire time. for instance when backing up and turning for the 90 degree you definitely want to make sure youre turning your head just so the instructor sees that but once youve backed up enough to straighten out you can pretty much rely on it to get up in there nicely. i will say the 90 degree is pretty snug so there is no shame in having to reposition, same goes for the parallel but theres a little more room for error on that one -yes they do and its with a curb. -yes

@@qirkrui5571 yea it’s just like that. Speed limit like 20. I just stayed at that slow pace. But don’t go too slow. And watch for the one way road, other than that it’s easy.

Don’t fully stop just make sure you slow down before turning. Only if there’s a stop sign or red light do you stop before turning.
