We posted a video feature of this 1000 HP 1996 Impala SS, and this time, we get to take the 7000 original mile car for a spin. It was built by Finish Line Performance in Naperville, IL, and features a ProCharger F1 supercharger on the LT1 V8 and a custom T56 6-speed manual transmission. Even with all the power, the car still rides smooth and cool and could be driven every day!

I'm in the process of stroking my Lt1 out to a 383. My mechanic wants me to go with a 427 but I declined. Gonna supercharge it then move on to cosmetics. I upgraded the entire suspension system first.

He is correct its not 1000hp at the flywheel. 775whp adjusting from the 15% powerless loss from the flywheel to the wheels would be roughly 915hp to the flywheel. Honestly you should only call your car out by whp after it's been modified because the difference between 775whp and 1000whp is staggering.

Keith Handy well it's supercharged so I'm sure it's a four bolt main with forged rotating assembly so yeah it's Close to bulletproof as possible Price varies by the builder

I'm going to be getting a 92 caprice with the lt1 it was an old cop car and I'm going to do it somewhat like this not in as much detail as they did there's but it will be a blacked out sleeper with some old cop car rims and a good grippy tire so it won't look like I put it in pimp my ride and I'm going to put a converter on it change the gears around upgrade the engine with bigger filter and other shit to make it freaky fast

92 caprice with lt1 never existed 91-92 came with a 5.0 305cid and 93 came with a 5.7 350cid(not lt1 powered). 94-96 came with a base 4.3 liter 265cid v8 with the option of the 350cid LT1.

Do it yourself. If you can settle for about half the power you don't need a complete rebuild. Swap the heads, cam, injection, ignition, throttle body, intake system, add a procharger about 10lbs and you're over 500hp easy. No where near $35k

This is a mans car. This car holds its value overtime more than anything else from the 90s. A all original 96 with less than 30k would probably cost 30k plus.
