A piece of wood on a F1 car has something to do with minimum height and/or suspension travel, after the race the pieces are measured, if they havn't been ground off too much.

This is correct. They do that to make sure the car is not lower and they are not running more down force then they should be running.

The Gambler 500 is a real race. Here’s the Wikipedia definition: The Gambler 500 Rally is a mostly off-road Rally-Style Navigational Adventure using cheap, impractical or fun vehicles to run through the country picking up trash and removing abandoned vehicles and boats. Participants are encouraged to spend no more than US$500 on their vehicle; however, this limit is not enforced.

skid block is a common term for a mandatory attachment to the underside of a racing car. Initially applied to Formula One cars in 1994, it has also been used in other categories including Formula 3000 and Formula Three. It is a flat rectangle, usually made of a wood composite, designed to impose a minimum ground clearance and to limit the use of ground effects to enhance handling. Just saying

I actually bought an old gambler 500 car a couple years ago. It was this lifted crown Vic that had an insane looking front bumper. I used it as my daily lol. The gambler 500 is a real race, each state has their own groups. Drivers typically try not to spend over $500 on their car, however it’s not necessarily a rule that you can’t. But the cars are meant to be beaters with your own twist. The drivers then do a “race”. The race takes place on public roads, not a track. Drivers use a paper map and coordinates to drive to locations and reach the final destination. If you make it, you win. If not, see ya next year. Then they have a party at the end where everyone can hangout, talk, ect ect. I really wanted to participate in one but my cars transmission went out and then I shipped out to boot camp. Hopefully in the future tho.

Use the clutch when over the rpm limit drae... Otherwise the engine will blow due to overspeed. Been 5 years or so and you never learnt that (only for this game hopefully) 😅

The piece of wood is a real thing (its a skid block)!! It was placed to make sure that F1 cars don't lower the ride height too much! If the car is set too low, it gets worn against the road. Post-race, if the skid block has too much wear, then the driver is penalized.

The wood at the bottom of the formula car is because its easy to replace when the car scrapes the ground from downforce, etc
