Thank you! we spent 5 months in the highlands and islands - only encountered love and friendship from you Scottish, to the point where locals were showing us secret park ups and force feeding us - wee drams. Amazing place, Amazing people!

That’s looks amazing, we can’t wait to do the NC500, hopefully without bumping into locals that want to all to themselves 🤣, what time of the year was this?
@motorhomemavericks17 ай бұрын
We done it between February and the end of April (with a few diverts to the islands). Would definitely recommend it out of season. What you lose in the touristy things being closed, you make up for with empty roads and park ups. As for the locals - they were lovely, friendly and showed us no animosity whatsoever. Look forward to watching your vids to bring back memories'

Wheelers in the wild has the wrong idea. We locals don’t mind sharing the west coast views at all. It’s sharing them with people wrapped up in huge motor homes on our single track roads. We don’t buy large cars for a reason.

@@johnwhitley5255 Hi John, Sorry to disappoint you but large motorhomes have just as much right as any other vehicles - AS LONG AS THEY ARE LEGAL. As for locals not buying big cars? LOL! I was there five months - rubbish
@johnwhitley52557 ай бұрын
@@motorhomemavericks1 Did you use the whole five months checking the size of the locals cars at Achmelvich then? You only had to examine nine of them. Nothing against motor homes, cars, cyclists and hikers . It just happens the road to the beach is an enlarged past horse and cart track and larger motor homes are given an abilities check that some fail to manage.

@@motorhomemavericks1nowt to do with rights or legality, its the behaviour and attitude of the driver's which can cause friction. Bearing in mind the locals also have the right to go about their daily business.
