Driver starts his recording on Summer Ave. (Northeast of Poplar corridor aka "Wealth Row"), traveling down Summer (Nutbush & Highland Heights neighborhoods on camera right side & East Memphis, Berclair & High Point neighborhoods on camera left side). He then turns down Tillman into one of our urban zones called Binghampton where he first notices police cams on the light posts throughout the neighborhood. Tillman eventually takes him to the Midtown leg of Poplar Avenue where he spots the socio-economic "contrast" going from one zip code area to the next. From Poplar/Tillman into Poplar/East Parkway: Overton Park/Cooper Young (Affluent upper-middle class area with poverty zones around all of its borders)(Midtown IS the area experiencing the most Gentrification to keep "certain" socio-economic demographics of people out). Driver turns down East Parkway into the Liberty Bowl/Fairgrounds/South Midtown zone headed into my old neighborhood/urban zone called Orange Mound (I am a 1984 graduate of Melrose High School: Golden Wildcats) as he turned on Park Ave. & commuted right into the football stadium (Melrose) & the community center section of our zone/zip code. There are many "opinions" about the most "dangerous/high crimes" areas in Memphis. As a Native now living elsewhere, I can tell you with certainty that any area/zone that sits north & south of the Poplar Ave./Walnut Grove/Union Ave. corridors are poverty zones (disenfranchised) & all of those "hoods" are crime-escalated, NOT JUST Orange Mound! Raleigh-Frayser/North Memphis zones, Nutbush/Highland Heights, Binghampton, Castalia (Young Dolph shooting)/South Memphis zones, Hickory Hill/Fox Meadows/Parkway Village (Old East Memphis: "white flight"), Oakhaven, Whitehaven, Westwood. WHEREVER there is socio-economic struggle/regression, there will be 10:00 p.m. news "breaking headlines" including Downtown Memphis (tourist zone) which is bordered by both North & South Memphis! Poverty & recidivism are the factors at play and Gentrification IS NOT the solution! Jahleel Eli

It was fucked up to say the least and I was actually kinda paranoid cause it was like 2 in the morning and I had turned around in some bad residential hoods and folks were looking at me like I crazy or just suicidal. When you were driving on Tillman you drove through the western portion of Binghamton. Orange Mound is one of the original black communities in the city. it is located mostly along Park Avenue east of Lamar avenue. It is a little rough but far nicer than some of the areas on the south side and southwest side of the city. There are also rough area on the north side and Frayser.
