What happens if there is an accident and ambulance/fire truck needs to get in there ?
@601TRAVELS4 жыл бұрын
If there is an accident, first responders would enter from the other side where traffic continued to flow after the point of collision and the lanes were opened. That’s my guess anyway 😎

I remember going through the Holland Tunnel as a child and my dad always made a joke about it because we didn't get a radio signal so he would put his 8-track cassette tapes and I can't remember now but anyway remember the ends I was holding my breath the entire time I was terrified thinking the water was going to come pouring down and we can all get killed now I have panic attacks and severe anxiety is an adult and I totally think it's been that and a combination of my dad and his asthma and narcissism thinking he was acting like a cool Dad driving 85 to 90 miles an hour on back roads and then shutting his highlights and high beams are knows his lights off and driving in the dark and then I'd want somebody to turn them on and we would see an oncoming car I swear to God as a child anziety level was so severe that it just toppled over into adulthood and I now struggle with it with everything and trust me when someone says you got to come see this awesome band that I really want to go but I have to go over a Bridge or through a tunnel I won't go bridge level was so hard terrible

I used to put up with this drive about every other weekend for a night at the bars for 10 years.. how much we wish that merge after the toll booths could be improved. Eventually the tolls were made going from NJ to NY and not bidirectional as it were, at that time you could order a coupon book, for about $50 where the toll booth attendant had to remove your coupon and hand you back the book. 20+ years later I see the toll, it horrible now, time of day and number of occupants sensitive. In the end, I'd take NJT train to Newark and change to a PATH train, had two car break-ins too many.

Remember almost always, the toll is leaving NJ, getting in NJ is usually toll-free, they just doubled the tolls to cut down how many toll booths there were and to save labor

This is the year 2020. How much do you want to bet that by the year 2050, the toll to go tru that tunnel for a normal passenger car will be at least 50 dollars even more. When I started driving, the toll for the Outerbridge crossing was 2 dollars and that was in 1984 and 1 dollar for a motorcycle.

The stories of crime in these tunnels not reported are uncountable. No one seems to care. Many women have been raped by employees of these tunnels. This tunnels have too many offices closets and no one believes that those small silver doors with locks can be used for anything bad.ince there was a victim who had a police officer drag her inside of an office beat herald almost kill her thru strangulation. She lived ,was paid to stay quiet. Did not enjoy the money.
