One way of getting unstuck is the same way farmers can use to get farm equipment from out of the mud. Keep a small length of 2 by 4 in your car. Use a ratchet tie and ratchet the 2 by 4 to a tire. The 2 by 4 will give you the best friction to get unstuck. Just move forward very very slowly until you can get into a good area that will allow your tires a better grip. Might even be a good way of getting out of a ditch on the side of the road. Put on all of your driving tires and drive very slowly in a straight line. Kind of like putting tank tracks on your car when needed. That’s what really helps give regular tires more traction (the width of the tires). If you don’t have any 2 by 4 just use some rope and tie a branch to the tire. The survival expert Creek Stewart’s Grandfather Would do this to his farm tractors, stuck in the field. Tie anything like a 2 x 4 or branch to drive wheels. That’s why you really get your traction, the width of what connects to the ground.

My tip is not to 'speed jump' into a parking spot in deep snow. Drive into the spot little by little by moving back and forth slowly to compact the snow. This way you basically make sure there is already a compacted path to get out of there the next morning. Unless of course, the city plow will push 2ft of snow into your car that night :)

I did get stuck a month ago, the Park Ranger offered the "help" of a private tow truck company. I asked for a shovel and she said even if she had one the liability wouldn't allow her to pass me one, LOL! It took me an hr to dug out the snow around the tires and under the belly with a frying pan. Then I lowered the tire pressure to 10-15 PSI. Even though this slightly lowered on the snow the already high-centered car, the extra grip made a difference. I keep ny Viair pump handy.

There should be a disclaimer in this video that tells viewers the importance of buying good tires for the car as #1 priority.

A few years ago I went to Canadian Tire and bought 2 boxes of 'FOLDING STEEL TRACTION AIDS' (they are folding metal tracks that you stick under the drive-wheels of your vehicle to get you unstuck. Now when I get stuck, I take out the small snow shovel I keep in the trunk of my car, dig out a bit of snow from in front, or behind the tire, on the direction I want to go, then put those Traction Aids' down so that the tires 'BITE' into them and get traction. It works every time, I get out of even the most stuck situations. But if you are high-centered over some packed snow, then your tires are just going to be spinning in the air and nothing other than a tow truck will be able to pull you off of that mound of snow. At $60 per set of them, they are not cheap, but they do work. Here is a video of them in action, and how they work: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gXW5qoN6hZmHo68

Oh my goodness air down 🤭🤔💪 less air wider foot print like sand. Old school.💪 All this new Garbage dosent help as much as taking 5 to 10 pounds of air out before a storm. Or when stuck. Works for all cars.

- Buy an old AWD/4WD for cheap. People might slide into you. - Put all-weather, winter, or aggressive offroad tires on it...with cold-pliable compound and LOTS of siping. Year-round, I like tires like the Trxus MT for 4WDs running large tires, and the AT Trail or CrossClimate for AWDs with smaller tires. - Carry a scraper/brush, a shovel, a recovery strap, a bag of litter/salt/gravel, chains/socks, and traction mats. - Install a winch. I've had no issues getting around with a Wrangler or a Subaru, even with hood-high drifts across backroads, or ice sheets on plowed roads.
