Whenever I go to car shows, I see quite a few of them. Mine is my pride and joy and would never sell it and strongly encourage others to keep theirs and to put in the love that these trucks deserve

Daily drive my ‘64 c10 inline 6, no issues. Most guys that I’ve met that often swap to LS or a bigger block end up not driving their truck often due to maintenance or just something always going wrong, but everyone has different experiences and ride preferables 🍻

At 600HP at the crank is the split. Any 700R4 can be built to handle this horsepower if it you intention for a grocery getter. The stock 12 diff is great up to this point but if fuel economy is on the list, get a positive traction carrier “Series 3” to install a 3:08 gear set. Depending on your skills and home equipment, modify 2003 Tahoe buckets by cutting off the seat belt riser as C-10’s are factory set for seat belt on the cab side wall. Built a center console using CPVC from home stores, sew your seats with leather, fit a metal riser for comfortable seat position and add power windows is easy, wiring forums are best like 67-72C10 and if bed wood is your option, but Hickory and oil it after cut & dato grooved the wood for SS bed metal. Once the “Gen1” GM engine was best as a 4 bolt, heads, balanced crank w/carb can produce 600 Horse Ponies is easy. LS gen3 iron blocks in trucks, SUV’s & Vans are not difficult to spent $1k on parts, $1k on accessories and $1k on trans with $2k on paint will have you in a “Historical” tag vehicles in your state and not pay property tax each year, you will be answering questions at the gas station by a hundred stories of lost loved ones who owned one. It is well worth it especially if you need to haul plywood, plaster wall board or other 8 foot materials from time to time, working like a truck! It is getting attention and historical stories with thousands of folks, weekly. As for the LS truck engine, GM produced 400,000 per year for 6+ years before government regulations had them adding a complicated valve train system know as “Active Fuel Management” which can be deleted. Have fun! Life is too short to wear boring socks and drive the vehicle that looks like every other car in the intersection. DK, Omaha. ASE Master Tech since 78.

1983 Chevy pickup with modern technology. As an everyday car. A Texas daily driver with original patina served as the basis. It was implemented by the Kaiser Kustoms company in Pfaffenhofen an der Roth in Germany. The following was installed: complete QA1 suspension kit😍, LS3 500HP engine with a holley sniper injection system, Transmission is a revised 700 R4 with strength up to 1000hp💪 , Dakota digital gauges , wilwood disc brakesand and 20" american racing wheels, Rack and pinion steering.
