Check fuel mileage after 1,000 miles then 5,000 miles. We noticed a big difference in our break-in experience with our 23 Timberline explorer. I changed the oil at 4,000 miles the first time. Much better after the 1st thousand miles then better yet after 1st service.

"Where do you want us to go in this truck?" I would say your testing grounds in Eastern WA. is pretty bad ass. Moses Lake would be a fantastic place for this truck to open up and run the way it was meant to. No scratchy trees around ya. Perhaps Tahuya. Capital Forest has some good power line spots. Elbe Hills would be a challenge, but it has some tight, narrow trails. Seems it has really changed for more custom mades than street rigs now. Douglas Creek would be a nice drive/road trip for you. Scenic and when you get there, there are areas that would be fun to test out your articulation. Just a few ideas for local trips.

Got mine for MSRP and ordered catcus green on accident but its growing on me honestly. Getting around 10 mpg driving pretty aggressively around town in sport mode but didnt get for fuel economy got for a capable daily that isnt going to be boring.

I just did this in my Ranger FX4. Turns out it needs 33" tires, a lift, and better armor. Fords armor doesn't cover the brackets that hold the lower control arms. There was some pretty big off camber sections that would have made me nervous with a higher CG though. PS: Those brackets stack down and are going to take hits.

I made the mistake in past paying 10K over on a bronco badlands, never again!! i am used to full size Fords (150, 250, Tremor) but i am very impressed with this midsize truck. it is definitely easy to park compared to my big ole trucks lol

Seems like a great truck!! My one issue with the F150 Raptor is its size. It is going to collect a lot of AZ pinstripes, and it’s a pain in parking lots. The Ranger Raptor seems to be a perfect size for off-roading. Can’t wait to see further reviews after its broke in. My knock against this is the lockers being in a touch screen. I wish they had their own physical switches/buttons. The more you have to use touch screens the more distractions you have as you toggle the screens and try to read what’s what. A simple button is better in my opinion. Does it have trail turn assist? That would be a great feature to have.

@jxwhit8

Yeah... i saw the videos trying to compare a regular Gen4 Tacoma to Ranger Raptor. Not an apples to apples comparison. Remember... the i-force max torque is available at only 1700 RPM and sustains until 4200 rpm... which means you will actually get useful power. The Ranger Raptor doesn't tap into is peak torque until 3500 rpm. This results in a much zippier feel off the line and on the trails when you need it. It's probably true the raptor will beat the pro/trailhunter in a baja race environment, but everywhere else... I think the taco reigns supreme.

weird question. rc cars have a speed controller and when the truck hits an obstacle, it auto gives it power and controls how much power is used to maintain the same rate of speed that was being inputted by the throttle. I hear in your reviews to get over obstacles, of course you have to give it a little more throttle, but wondering if there is some speed control for full size trucks.

As one who owns a fully modified PowerWagon with all King suspension (and far more) I had to develop some 'guts' for offroading as well. Sounds like clearance side to side is a huge trigger for you. ANother thing I had to learn, and you appear to need the same, is LEFT OFF THAT BRAKE PEDAL BRO. The locerr and 4WD will slow you down plenty fast enough.

If you can get one at MSRP, this truck is such a value buy. That said, as a Ranger Tremor owner, and not being able to pay cash, it is not worth it to upgrade with rates what they are. What the Ranger Raptor wont fix is my wife wanting a larger interior, if it had that, then maybe I could justify it. I know the Honda Ridgeline is not the same class of truck, but man they have the best interior of the mid-size.

I like the coil-overs front and rear. I like the drivetrain and Auto-4WD. Don't care about towing and load limit.

If people can actually get theses for 57k that’s not too bad when compared to the competition. I’ve seen trd off-roads listed at 55k.

I love it! If they made a Maverick Raptor, I would want to buy one. Regardless, all the Raptors are cool.

Plastic skid plates for some reason? It’s to keep spark down if it hits to hard.

Well as far as it goes with the screen I think if doing any kind of off road driving you will most likely have the windows closed so I don't think dust should be a problem

Drives great and still fits in parking spaces. How fun would it be with a manual transmission!

47psi is pretty high for going off road. Id air down to 15-20 for your next off trip and see if it's even more comfy. Btw I dont know why people hate on the color. What's wrong wtih silver?? It's a good looking truck. (Im biased btw)

I ordered mine in May 23 as well, and it finally is in production today. Looks like I will have waited a year for it when I finally get it. Can't wait to compare it to our Bronco Raptor and Shelby Raptors.
