"Driving With Gloves" is a great title in itself. This is a very intriguing video. It demonstrates a beautiful air-cooled 911. What an awesome color this car is, not too flashy and subdued just enough. The viewer really gets to see what fun you are having. The removal of the targa top is so cool and a great lesson in itself. Too bad the top of a C4 Corvette wasn't as easy to manipulate and stowe away. If this car is for sale, I'd be interested in knowing more about it. The only thing I would do to it is put on a vintage wooden Porsche shift knob.

Thank you very much for your comment on this video, I really appreciate it. It was one of my first videos I made. The car was sold around 5 years ago. I believe the colour is called "Indisch Rot". I also made a video about a Corvette C4 around 2 years ago. Indeed it is quite a hazzard to remove the top. And it is quite heavy. I used to own a Corvette C5. To remove the top was way easier as in the C4.

Ha, love the vid. I have a 911 85 cab. You capture the engine note perfectly. A really witty commentary.

Having driven Targa’s since ‘74 myself, I can see that you truly understand their appeal! Love seeing your driving roads. The only mistake I noted is that your Carrera does in fact have power assisted braking, but nothing else. Please continue enjoying your motoring in good health!

Thank you. The one I have driven here, wasn't mine. It was a bit different from the European models. It had an interior from a SC, although it was a 3.2 Carrera. Well the brakes were certainly not power assisted, neither was the steering. There was only a light which indicated when to shift gears. But it was one of the first videos I made. So please forgive the imperfections.

Driving with Gloves no issues from my side. My current Porsche is an ‘84 Targa, and it’s an absolute delight. Please continue making videos about great rides and cars.

Fantastic video, your back story on 911 ownership and daily driving is excellent. I had an SC coupe for a couple of years that I unfortunately lost in an accident last year, and I have missed it dearly ever since. Recently I’ve been on the lookout for another 911, and whilst I was initially seeking a newer model as a daily driver I have decided to instead go for a 3.2 carrera. Your story of all those miles inspires me more in that regard!

Thank you for your feedback. The 3.2 Carrera was way easier to drive than the 3.0 SC. You really can use it as a daily driver, as long as you do not get stuck all the time in a traffic jam. Because the clutch is quite heavy. As I already mentioned in the video, you will not need to go to the gym anymore with your left leg.

Driving with Gloves I used to daily drive my SC around LA, so I have an especially strong left leg at this point! Also, I am much more of a fan of the 915 than the G50.

Es war eines meiner ersten Videos. Es war initial nicht einfach die Tonschwankungen in den Griff zu bekommen. Leider kann ich es nachträglich nicht mehr ändern. Aber danke für den Hinweis.

I'm curious, do you think there is any handling or performance differences between SC/ Carrera hardtop cars versus SC/ Carrera Targas? Great vid by the way!
@DrivingwithGloves6 жыл бұрын
Brian Jones I must admit that I have only driven Targa versions from the SC and Carrera. So I really can't compare. The Carrera Targa is easier to drive and has more power than the SC Targa. I did also drive a 1987 911 Turbo Coupé. The characteristics of that car are completely different, because the turbo really kicks in.

I’d like to know what wheel and tire size is on that. My 89 targa wheels are fat and the car is not set that low. That car is sexy.
@DrivingwithGloves4 жыл бұрын
I can't really answer your question since the car has been sold a long time ago. But I think that it haf the standard specs. The wheels are from Fuchs. So I think it must be 7Jx15 or 7J×16 front tyres 195 or 205, rear tyres 205 or 225. But as I said, I am not 100% sure.

Good video, but you need to work more into the sound, the voice-over sound is so low compared to the background sound, makes this video a little annoying to watch.

I am sorry I don't get it, you mean that you can't find a shop to buy driving gloves? Or do you mean, you do not understand why I drive with gloves? Nowadays you can buy driving gloves through the internet all over the world. The reason why I drive with gloves is explained on my website: www.drivingwithgloves.info
