With stress adrenaline is the real problem. With chronic stress cortisol actually can become low from adrenal burnout, further exacerbating sympathetic dominance, while adrenaline stays high with all of its attendant issues like sympathetic activation, sleep disruption, and high endogenous blood sugar which promotes insulin resistance. Soluble fiber helps pull out excess adrenaline and other hormones that are bound in bile (bean protocol). It's amazing also how getting out of stressful environments can normalize all of this. 😊

Hi, Theresa - thanks for your thoughtful comment and for checking out my video! It's true that longstanding stress can result in low cortisol over time - that's why we test levels before treating. I have seen clients with low adrenaline and high cortisol - especially when stress is chronic - so I don't think we should only blame adrenaline. I've also found that getting out of stressful situations is simply not possible for lots of people, which is why I try to offer solutions that can be used even in the midst of high stress. I had to gain weight to reach the minimum weight to enter the military. Then I was an air traffic controller for 30 years, crazy work hours and crazy stress, gained weight starting in my 30s and now I can’t get rid of it. I got my thyroid back into the normal zone without medication, but I still can’t lose weight. The cravings you talked about are spot on. Thank you.

In little more than a year ago. I went trough a painful divorce, buy a new house, move. After about 5 months the house burned down. I lost my two kittens and most of my material things. That during the peak of Winter, with temperatures plummeting to -25C. No warm clothes, totally alone, no friends or family, on a country where I don't dominate the language so well, etc. First night on a camping site cabin. I had to buy a tooth brush and some underwear! That's all I had along with the work clothes I was wearing. Thankfully I still had my car, since I was at work. Got under the scrutiny of a judiciary police "criminal investigation". I was not aware but in my neck of the woods when you are the owner. Automatically it's treated as a "criminal investigation". Adding to months of arguments with the insurance, etc... At this point I believe, I earned my right to high cortisol levels! And yes the weight didn't help. 😟

Yes. AVOID at all costs until your weight normalises. It's really about the insulin. Cortisol is a side issue
