My puppy got a hold of rat poison that fell off the top shelf in the garage. Vet told me that all they could do for him was force him to throw up and do black charcoal treatments. So I gave him hydrogen peroxide and he threw up 4 times. Ran to the Walmart and got the pill form activated charcoal and just have him 13 capsules with yogurt and he took it like a champ! 30lb Lab/Pit mix. Hopefully this helps him. I tried salt but he didn't puke so then I grabbed hydrogen peroxide and 30 seconds later he puked some big pcs of chicken juice absorbency pad! Thought he wouldn't eat but nope 2 hrs later he was ready for his night kibble lolol.

The math seems wrong for the pills. The pills have 280 mg each (560 in 2)… so 1.4-2.8 grams in 5-10 capsules. But the minimum dose you said was half a gram per lb body weight. So wouldn’t the 14 lb dog need at least 7 grams? Which would be 25 capsules?

Yes. Should be 2x since each cap is 260mg not 520mg, which is per serving. I just gave mine 20 caps. Originally gave her 10 caps but was too low, her stool. I hope this time it works.

If 540 mg per two capsules, aka approx 1000 mg per 4 capsules capsules, And dosage is ~1g per lb aka 1000 mg per lb aka 4 capsules per lb And she’s 14 lbs Isn’t that 4 x 14 = 54 capsules??

Honestly I just grabbed my seed scale and a plastic shot sized glass and weighed it out. If you don't already have a scale..... harbor freight has a decent one that takes AAA batteries and is accurate enough for this and very reasonably priced occasionally on sale. I recommend just having one on hand with your emergency pet supplies or with your cannabis supplies..... somewhere where you will know to grab it in case of emergency.

Here this vet holds back s laugh saying "big black poop" 🤣 Glad that even medical professionals can laugh when saying some things.👍 Thanks I finally just bought activated powder in a 1Ib tub online. last time I was trying to break apart all the capsules and made a mess but wanted instant action because my pooch was looking bad. It worked! Now he's drooling again so to be safe I gave him a bath and used my new activated charcoal tub powder. I used baby fruit puree but I wish I would have known yogurt! He loves it and I have some here. Oh well in the syringe the slurry went and behind his front K9 tooth where it was a gap. Hopefully this solves it. Glad it's extremally safe.

Thank you, my dog had some CBD oil that was expired 2022, it seems to be making him tic, like arm and head jerking. I gave it to him last night I just realized now that's what it was, so I ordered the activated charcoal to be delivered today from Amazon, it should be here in a few hours. But he does seem better already and he's not doing that anymore, but I'm still going to give him the activated charcoal for a few days. He's in 19 lb dog. 2 pills are 1200 mgs, so how many do I give him?

If you can find anyway to get to the vet DO THAT otherwise it's worth a shot I'd think. **Not a vet** Btw some things you shouldn't use it for like petroleum products one site said. So if it ate Vaseline one website said don't use activated charcoal.

Hey! No, You have to give activated charcoal that is created by a vitamin company or other company that is okay for ingestion. I dont know what other harmful chemicals are in charcoal used for a fire.

It’s Sunday and my dog got into something I went to the local drugstore to try and find activated charcoal it. I was unsuccessful here in Texas. We have an H-E-B grocery store. I did find activated charcoal 520 mg per serving but it says here that it’s from coconut shells is this safe for your dog? Is it the same thing?

You have to be careful with cats if they vomit it they can aspirate. But I have given it to my cats about 2-3 pills mixed with water syringe feed it gently to them or mix in their wet food and syringe the wet food to them. I hope this helps. But also go to your vet for best results in detoxifying a pet.

If the brain damage has occurred and days have passed you can't reverse it because the animal already probably pooped out the toxin. If it just ate it within a few hours then maybe. I'd talk to the vet to be sure. If kitty is at deaths door does it really matter holistic or not if it saves it's life?!? I'm all for natural but if I have cancer I'm not going to try questionable natural things if the doctor tells me they have a drug or treatment that has a high cure rate. I mean I can go back to clean eating after I'm away from deaths door. IF this is NOT from acute poisoning then NO the damage is done. This only works by absorbing some toxins in the stomach it doesn't nothing with cleansing the brain or blood vessels. It simply stays in the stomach absorbs toxins and then out the rectum it goes! Will do nothing to reverse damage already done. *I'm not a vet and this is not medical advice. See a licensed vet for medical advice**

It could help but if you can tell your pet is affected by thc its best to take them to the vet so they can help give supportive care. It helped my dog. He ate half a joint of my husband's medical marijuana and, after giving him 30 of them, mixed in some yogurt and dog food. He is almost to normal this morning. He isn't swaying anymore, and his pupils are back to norma.

I read online to go to the vet and I agree......but if your broke and things aren't legal in your area..... I read if its an edible and it's longer than 30 mins or doesn't pay since it's mostly absorbed right away. (My dog still was throwing up 1.5 hrs after because that's when it showed signs) I gave him the powder mixed with baby food and the tremors stopped and paranoia stopped. 45ish mins later the drooling reduced significantly. He still puked 2x after I gave him this but it saved his life I think. Supposedly for my size dog 20mg is the deadly dose but the package said only 10mg he had but still was in a bad state. Luckily he could safely swallow (although real slow because he was stoned) but slowly I gave it to him and stayed calm. Poor guy was much better after 6hr and 100% next day. Online they said if the edible has other toxic things like xylitol or something added it's now more deadly and go straight to the vet no question. When in doubt go to the vet. I am not a vet this is info I saw online from other vets. I am not able to give medical advice and this is simply what I did after doing my own research. I chewed out my friend who initially told me it was just CBD. He didn't know THC was dangerous when CBD wasn't. Now he knows....... Don't feed them anything if they are too sick/stoned to swallow. Otherwise they can breath it in and die or choke and die.

No that can have additives and is cancerous. Activated Charcoal is super fine and free from dangerous contamination. If cost is an issue go online to vitamin websites and buy it in bulk form. I bought 1 pound for more than a bottle costs but WAY more so I can save many dogs. The capsules should be cheaper online also. I typically use iherb and they have sales at times. I'm not affiliated though so any vitamin shop should be cheaper online.

Mine was given a 10mg edible 😱 He is 65# and they say 20mg is the suggested lethal dose (if it's not mixed with other toxins like xylitol) My dog was drooling bad and then started to have shake occasionally but this 1.5hrs after eating it. Online they said it doesn't pay to induce vomiting this late. Luckily I had activated charcoal capsules and quick bought baby food and mixed it then used a big syringe and fed it slowly to my dog. Poor guy puked 4 times total 2 times after the charcoal BUT he stopped shaking in like 20 mins after and seriously reduced his drooling 45 mins later. He was also extremely scared of me and walking unsteady for like 10mins after I gave him it. Even though it shouldn't have been toxic he was reacting bad. The charcoal and KZbin video I saw on it from a different KZbin saved his life! 6hrs later he was good but clearly had a CBD chill effect to him. I sat next to him and stayed calm for all 6hrs. The next day he was 100%. Friend felt bad and said he was trying to chill my dog out. He told me it was CBD so I would agree. Later he said he had no idea and felt bad. He now knows you never give a dog THC. Glad I'm paranoid/prepared and had activated charcoal capsules just in case when I had was gathering pet emergency supplies. I now bought a 1ib tub from a vitamin shop online. At 65# he used almost the whole bottle of capsules and I was rushing to open them all for instant absorbing power. How big is your dog in pounds? Milk chocolate takes A LOT to kill a dog like for my 65# dog it would take something like 45+ pounds of milk chocolate. Although DARK CHOCOLATE like 75%+ is now more concentrated and takes much less. You can Google milk chocolate poisoning amount per dog pound for an idea. If it was only 1 egg and your dog is medium sized or bigger it's probably fine. That package of activated charcoal is saying that probably to protect themselves from a law suit. That's possibility on there so if someone is dying and takes a bottle but dies anyway the family can't sue saying it didn't stop the poisoning. If it's fine "Activated Charcoal" for human consumption and lists things like helps with a big meal or gas or something it should work. Mainly that's for not getting sewed I think. On that note so I don't get sewed.....**I am not a vet and this is not medical advice. Always consult with your vet for all medical related questions**

For future reference dawn dish soap added to water in a pump sprayer and mixed around will also kill wasps shortly after contact. They drop from the skybin only a few seconds then act all messed up on the ground for like 30 before totally dying. I now use that for flying wasps because it's less toxic to get on me or my pets or wildlife and ground water. The pump sprayers you can still concentrate the spray using the nozzle to get a good ~10ft distance. Try it next time. A good squirt in a gallon of water. Shake pump it up adjust nozzle for a tighter pattern and then attach. Keep spraying them till the drop. It only takes a few seconds for them to drop. WEAR SHOES

Google that. Some things like that they don't recommend vomiting because then it burns coming back up also. For humans they sometimes recommend drinking milk or something to dilute and adjust it. I'd definitely Google it before doing anything. I'm NOT a vet so this is not medical advice

Yes! After mine got THC I did the charcoal then another 60cc syringe water and sat next to him while he was sleeping/chilling 6hr till he was over the hump. Scary stuff but you need to monitor them. I even looked up proper pulse and breath rate and checked that while he was chilling. His pulse was a bit low but breathing was normal. He pulled through fine luckily. All the things I did can get researched for free online. I recommend anyone trying to risk it at home should at least do these types of checks also.
