I finally got my ‘97 camaro SS out for its first drive yesterday! Carl helped me out (via e-mail) early this year on a valve adjustment situation (THANK YOU). I did the full LT4 conversion, COMP XFI 292 cam, 11.6 static compression, 8.43 dynamic, ported lt4 heads, lt4 crank, 2800-3200 stall, 3.73 gears, PCMFORLESS mail-order tune, and 58mm TB. I drove it very nicely through hilly highways all day yesterday to break it in. Today, I mildly put the beans to it once, and I would recommend this combo all day long for a fun street car! Surprisingly, it has just the right amount of low-end grunt, strong mid-range, and great top-end power! It revs very quickly due to the hollow valves and tool-steel retainers. I can’t overstate how pleased I am with this car!

My ‘94 with Torque Head was doing the same thing with the banks being slightly different.

I’m slowly learning using Hp tuner & EEhack for my lt-1. Pcmforless did my tune & im curious. There is cats, EE flash hack & free software for the lt-1. 94/95 free scan was the first live data for me. I’m glad someone else is posting about live data & programming so thank you. She does sound yummy 🇺🇸

@EllweinEngines Dymag made them back in the day. They are made out of magnesium to be lighter weight. The last set I seen sold for around $4500 a few year's ago.

Unrelated but something ive always been curious about. For a 93 Corvette with bolt ons would an adjustable Fuel pressure regulator modification be used to increase horsepower bc the speed density system wouldnt try to correct af adjustments?

Im currently building a 67 cutlass and i picked up a 97 lt1 and a t56 trying to figure out the best way to tune it for a cam and head job only build any idea?

You need Jet DST. That’s the only software that can tune a 96/97 LT1 PCM. It’s $575 dollars. If you use a 411 PCM you can use almost any software out there.

My camaro ss is a 1997, and Keith at pcmforless had NO problem doing a mail order tune! I think he charges $300. My tune turned out to be perfect as far as I can tell.
