JMO I’m just a person with SIBO not a doctor! The elemental is packages powder you mix. It is very expensive. A few years ago it was $750 & tastes horrible but can be tolerated if your not hypoglycemic. Rifaxamin at the time was $2,200 a bottle Bit SIBO is major and can cause so many health issues you don’t want to mess around with it I cannot tolerate a lot of things and I e had reaffirming SIBO for 4 years. My underlying cause was Lyme disease but I still have that also. I believe doctors should check for anything abstracting the digestive system. Heading back to the doctor today as I’m bed ridden again and really sick! One thing he didn’t mention is the lack of absorption of nutrients and this has been critical for me and last hospital stay was 8 days. Be diligent and get a good doctor who actually cares as this has not been a fun road

I suffered from IBS, ulcers from h pylori, gallbladder attacks, black tarry stools, so many stomach issues. I tried everything known to man. Nothing helped and most suggestions and meditation made me 100% worse. Antibiotics, probiotics, omeprazole, fermented foods, all wrecked my guts terribly. I was begging to die because the pain was so severe and nothing was helping. Then, I decided to try mastic gum after reading a lot about it helping others. I took 1000mg every morning on an empty stomach. Then I switched to a 100% animal based diet. Zero sugar, zero carbs. When I ate my meals I took papaya enzymes. 1 before, 1 during and 1 after. I tried not to eat past 5pm. Usually it was 3pm and I fasted until about 11am. In 3 months not only did my ulcer heal, I stopped having gallbladder attacks. After a year on carnivore, I decided to splurge on my birthday. Then I fell off the wagon. Gained all my weight back that I had lost, but my stomach is still healed. I just started back on carnivore because I felt so much better on that way of eating. God bless to all suffering. It’s no joke having terrible stomach issues.

Something that is often overlooked is fixing the underlying problem that lead to SIBO. As an example, is if someone isn’t producing enough hydrochloric acid (HCL), the SIBO will continuously come back. Loose stools with positive SIBO often can be a cause of low bile flow. Hard stools/constipation + SIBO diagnosis can be a sign of poor HCL production. Taking TUDCA or Green Beet leaf powder can thin the bile to allow it to flow more freely. Just my two cents.

@@joy-lv2xhusually with sibo, we have low acid because we can't tolerate it, is my guess. You can fix your hcl issue by fixing the main cause of sibo, which is a slow working migrating motor complex. @@joy-lv2xh I guess it would depend on where you have your ulcer. Ginger can increase your hcl levels, and are good for ulcers in small quantities. If you have sibo, it's good to fix your mmc, so taking artichoke with your ginger can help this to get your stomach working properly again.

Take a look into making your own saccharomyces boulardii. All you need is apple cider and one capsule of Florastor. If you make your own, you get a much higher count. Most of the yeast in the capsules is affected by the heat since most companies store it hot warehouses. By created your own, you'll get a high amount of SB which is great to help with Candida and parasites. Google Dr. William Davis & apple cider & Florastor. He has a KZbin video on this I believe. Very good information overall however I want to point out that it highly depends on the severity of the SIBO. Probiotics and Diet alone will not clear a severe case of SIBO, and people should definitely test to figure out where they are at on the spectrum (and which type they have). My numbers on the LBT were > 400 so clearly not a 1-round treatment type of situation. Good advice for mild SIBO nonetheless.
@rhondaberkowitz965611 ай бұрын
Exactly, this info given is way to simplified! The Dr (if educated enough) needs to know if it is only hydrogen that is elevated, and/or methane *and/or hydrogen sulfide which only the 'trio smart' can test for. Based on this, as to antibiotics, one might need only Rifaximin - or that combined with either neomycin or metronidazole - or bismuth in addition as well if it is hydrogen sulfide that is elevated. One must do some self-educating through the premier SIBO researcher in the world, Dr. Mark Pimental. See his most recent youtube webinars. Also, there is now a diagnostic blood test for IBS: 'IBS Smart Test' that can actually diagnose IBS and distinguish an IBS diagnosis from IBD. Again, see Dr. Pimental's intense research although he explains it in ways normal humans can understand.

Just remove everything and anything that can cause inflammation and feed any kind of microbes or bacteria or candida. Get a food sensitivity test if you can afford it if not try eating just meat for six weeks and see if you begin to heal. Meat tends to cause the least amount of inflamation in the gut. And the only way the guts going to heal is in the absence of reoccurring inflammation. And the only way a gut infection like Candida is going to die off is if you remove all the food eats. As far as I know there’s no microbe or candida or whatever that eats meat. It’ll take about four months typically. When you start feeling a lot better that would be a safe time to add probiotics. Though you can explore using them before that. Consuming healing supplements for the gut is good like glutamine. Use Meat as medicine. It’s only temporary. When all else fails this is a great protocol.

Isn't motility key to the whole thing? If MMC has gotten reduced function, from mold, food poisoning, or any number of other reasons. The bacteria begin migrating from the colon up to the small intestine. Which in turn leads to an overgrowth. I'd assume that getting this piece back would make everything else easier, and possibly reduce the need for a kill phase for many. Unless there is severe overgrowth or biofilms from SIFO as well. @DrRuscioDC7 ай бұрын
Thank you so much. Here's our advice and guidance on HCL: drruscio.com/betaine-hcl/. Our article cites some current research on hypochlorhydria as a potential cause and risk factor, but it's a difficult condition to accurately identify (lab tests are limited in more ways than one). Taking HCL and monitoring your response is one potential way to assess if low stomach acid is fueling your SIBO.

Then, after my veggie garden exploded and I couldn't resist it, I had a fallout with eating salads every day. My symptoms came back with a vengeance! 3 months after GI symptoms and migraines. Doctor: "You have SIBO, go on fodmap eat small meals often." Me: Goes on Fodmap, days later migraines become daily and severe. Reduces diet to almost nothing. Migraines daily but less severe. Doctor: "Keep going on Fodmap, take probiotic" Me: Migraines persist, bloating increases over time. Doctor: "Take stronger probiotic" Me: "Bloating worsens, diet becomes even stricter. Cant eat 4 meals a day, daily migraines lessen and become less frequent. Doctor: "Stronger Probiotic" Me: Collapse, bloating max. Doctor: "Colonoscopy time. Looks fine, you must have IBS. We'll call you for a follow up." Me: But I've never had pain. Doctor: "Must have IBS, try meditation." Never calls for follow up, nor do they return my primaries calls. Do note, all the research papers on SIBO can say anything you want it to at this point, that literature is a hot mess since SIBO can come about from so many diverse and potentially mysterious root causes. At least in my experience the ones that fit my personal observations is slow motility will lead to reoccuring SIBO no matter what I do to treat it. Probiotics can be great or they can just be the vehicle for more bacteria in your small intestine and further imbalance in GI systems that are severly weakened. Listen to your symptoms and pray your doctor cares enough to respond and knows enough to reapond correctly.

For the record, pain isn't a required symptom for IBS. I have IBS and very rarely have pain. For me it's just intense intense discomfort and bloating and indigestion. Which lead to many other issues (such as SIBO and difficulty breathing due to Reflux).
@christophermolitor45543 ай бұрын
@@fathelos Yeah I'm learning that the Rome classification just doesn't apply to everyone, it does make me wonder how well we have a grasp on this disease. Seems ill defined. Apparently 10% of the population has this and yet I've never met someone going through the things I do. I was a product tester two years ago, eating things constantly. Now I can barely eat three times a day. It's like my body has to recover from the previous meal before I can even think about eating again. Appetite is a memory. I have migraines and episodes of nausea in ways I've never had before that like up with small my Migrating Motor Complex, enough to cause permanent damage to my vestibular system. Am I really on the same IBS path as everyone else? Should I be expecting ginger and peppermint to do something? Feels more like we have a large gap in knowledge on how the mechanisms of motion work in the gut, and the repercussions that occur due to the neurological tomfoolery. It could be many things that are wrong but it will all be under the GI disorder umbrella of IBS until we can untangle the mess and put some real names on it.
@fathelos3 ай бұрын
@@christophermolitor4554 Sounds quite bad. You might wanna lookup Tyramine and other similar (naturally-occuring) substances in food. Since my IBS/SIBO prevent my body from properly digesting food, this might be resulting in excess amounts of not properly digested Tyramine/Caffeine/Theobromine in my body as I've noticed symptoms that align with excess amounts of those substances. Migraines in particular are a common occurance of high Tyramine + high Caffeine/Theobromine. Nausea too I think.
@christophermolitor45543 ай бұрын
@@fathelos They are, I'm more on the Histamine suspicion myself. I've isolated out a very limited diet to try to avoid amines in general. Before that it was migraines every day that would end at night in what I thought was a circadian rhythm cycle but only until I realized it was just the further away from a meal I got the better I felt. I settled on the Histamine I tolerance focus due to what I felt was the origin of the incident and also my previous history with dairy. I had no problems up until the point I drank a Green Tea Extract that I was not supposed to while working at a beverage plant. It had not yet been diluted by the 100x it was supposed to. Due to the negative relationship of green tea and the enzyme that processes Histamine I assume I threw that whole mechanism off to the point of collapse given that I couldn't eat the next day and I've never been the same since. That was deemed coincidence and I was pointed down the IBS route. Then with my gastroenterologists all pointing me towards fodmap diets and probiotics that led me to a lot of fish which seemed to cause a secondary crisis very quickly. Basically all the wrong things to do with Histamine intolerance and it skyrocketed SIBO into the picture as I was bloated like I was pregnant for even the smallest meals. Two years and a half dozen rounds of Xifaxan later and I finally feel that I got a handle on the SIBO part. I don't bloat often, however I'm still on a low Histamine diet that I can't shake for the life of me, I still get migraines and vestibular problems all the time, and I still have to go in to doctors and talk to them about stress and meditation. What I want I want research and experimentation. This happened during one of my least stressful times in my life and my GI doesn't care how I'm feeling or what I'm doing. I want to stop being handed pills to try and having to hear the insurance company approved "here's how to make a sick tummy better" pamphlet from my GI doctors and start actually finding out why and when my body starts faltering from a mechanistic standpoint. Can't do that when we assemble poorly defined conditions into classifications with only specific approved treatments that we've boxed everyone into. Then we put pressure on the doctors by forcing right answers because wrong answers equals patient bankruptcy and it all must be done in 30 minute intervals and be solved in 3 pills or less.

Sugar is the driver for most gut issues and I've been a greedy pig eating a lot of refinedcarbs and drinking lots of beer and soon as I cut the out my gut issues stopped. The modern diet is killing our bodies particularly gut health and feeding the bad guys.
