I wish I was here for this stream. I have AE and got a VNS implant in december of last year, I've had one small seizure since and they had to turn it up but I'm doing better, my last bad seizure was February of last year after having 7 in about a year and a half. I live in Chicago and go to Northwestern there and they even sent my case to Mayo clinic to choose the Vns for me.

Glad to hear that things are getting better

@@DrOmarDanoun Thanks Doc, they are. Like I said I'm really lucky to have such good doctors, I have 2 pnuero immunologists in the city that take really good care of me. They took a brain sample from my right temple in February of 23 and found CNS vasculitis unfortunately, but I don't notice that. I've had Crohns for years 11 years so I've been sick a long time now.

Hi Dr. Danoun ~ Thankyou so much for this! Ive learned more in an hour than in 4 decades with Neurologists in multiple centres and hospitals 😮😢 In your experience, can G.E (started at age 12) with only daytime T.C seizures turn into Only Nocturnal T.Clonics? (Waking with multiple injuries) Also have you heard Menopause changing seizures? Thanks so very much 😊🙏🏻🎵

I’ve tried multiple medicines and have been diagnosed with bilateral focal epilepsy. I currently have a VNS implant and taking medications, I still have seizures with these also. I’m currently being studied for an RNS implant to see if that could possibly help more.

I am from Buffalo NY. I have generalized epilepsy and take Keppra. I have not had seizures since being on Keppra but it does make me feel foggy
@JubileeDancersКүн бұрын
I was started on Keppra and it made me very fatigued, so after three months my doctor put me on something else which is much better!! So I encourage you to ask your doctor to have you try something else based on what type of epilepsy you have.

@@cindygurrola10315 I'm on Kepra and clobozam too and 2 other ones, and I just got a VNS implant. I get auras sometimes, not too often thankfully they used to be way more. Like I just overexerted myself at my job way too much and had a small seizure there

What are the side effects of keppra? I read warnings about this, but they are never specified.

I have myoclonic jerks and hade 3 seizures attack. 2 attacks happened probably when I did not have enough sleep and the recent one was when I did not have enough sleep and I was kinda drunk from a party. I'm on Keppra for almost 1 year, it kinda works and help to stabilize my jerks so far the only side effects I had was tired and sleepy but after awhile I'm used to it and push through the day. People with suicidal or emotional kinda person shouldn't take keppra

@@afhamnasif249 Thanks for the explanation. I asked my GP what the side effects are, and got a 5 minute BS runaround non-reply.

@Sydopath it's best to see different doctors to see if their opinions are a match or good enough for you. Also to record when your child having the seizures and show it to the doctors. I'm 41 now and the dose is 250mg. Wish you all the best

My adult son is on oxcarbazapine (max dose) and Vimpat daily for grand mal seizures that began at age 26 years old, unknown etiology. MRI does show a small area of glial cell formation in frontal right lobe. If he occasionally has an alcoholic drink or two, he ends up with focal seizures. Would these break through seizures be considered "failing" the two medications? Hope this makes sense. My son is 28 yrs old. Thank you.

Does xcropi treat focal and generalized? Is it ok with someone that has mental health issues in the family? My daughter has been on 5 different meds none have helped the eeg. She is currently on onfi for her seizures and zoloft for her depression and anxiety and she is a completely different person we don't even recognize her. Doctor won't change anything until her EMU stay February 6th. I'm so worried for her.

Xcopri is approved for focal epilepsy and new studies showed it can help generalized epilepsy. It does not have major psychiatric side effects.
