Now we need to follow-up and make sure that a reputable agency actually does the assessment. Seems pretty lame that the default answer is a DJI ban and the only way that doesn't happen is if they actually complete the assessment. They can literally do nothing and get what they want a year from now.
@mjones82Ай бұрын
100% Correct
@ShermanKenBАй бұрын
The way I read the NDA a security agency is to make a determination within a year or less and then if they declare a security risk a ban happens in 30 days. If they fail to act in a year, the default is a ban. Doesn't sound good to me
@mike98321Ай бұрын
Yeah, sounds like a perfect opportunity for a government agency to sit on its hands and essentially ban all drones after one year.

Ordered a DJI Air3S from DJI over a month ago. Once in the US, US Customs failed to release it for shipping requesting a copy of Federal tax return cover and SS card, both supplied. Two weeks passed with US Customs still not releasing drone. DJI called and apologized for the delivery delay and said they would send another Air3S. Second Drone sent, US Customs again requests Federal tax return and SS card, both supplied. Not sure why US Customs needs a copy of your tax return and SS card to purchase a drone but apparently, they do. A month since Air3S order, two weeks since DJI sent second drone. US Customs recently notified shipper it could be three plus months (3+) until package is released. After notification of three plus month confiscation, all US Customs updates to shipper have stopped.
@171jacjacАй бұрын
That’s crazy, sorry that’s happening to you! Have you asked Customs if they need any info from DJI. That’s been an issue for several people as far as Customs needing certain info from DJI directly. Also the limit is $2500 for Customs to request the shipping company to obtain further identification procedures. I ordered mine this past Friday and it arrived just a few ago today Monday. Mine entered the US via Atlanta where it cleared Customs. I def was worried with my order and actually shocked mine arrived without issue. After Atlanta mine travelled to Houston and finally from there to Dallas. Based on my research into this issue, I found that most of the delays with clearing Customs has been happening in “Port” locations. Meaning an airport that’s also close to a water way port, like LAX, JFK, and MIA. Trust me I know what you’re dealing with is highly frustrating! I’m glad DJI has been helpful to you during all this garbage. Many company once they have your funds could care less if you receive the product. Especially for companies outside the US where it’s harder to travel to them in order to obtain a refund! Good luck and don’t give up, it’s my understanding that things are and have been improving with all this junk, have a good one and keep trying!!
@zavtravels4546Ай бұрын
That’s totally unacceptable, you paid so much hard earned money for a drone, and US Customs are keeping it 😡

I am sorry that the AH's at customs is harassing you. I bought my Air 3S on Nov 30, from the DJI store, and they shipped it from Hong Kong via DHL. It look like it went to some DHL hun in Ohio, then Los Angels, then to my city. It took about 4days.
@sl44erАй бұрын
@@171jacjac Glad you received your drone without any US Customs issues. DJI support has been excellent. A few weeks ago DJI indicated they supplied all required US import documentation to shipper and Customs. Thank you for sharing your experience and you also have a great one.

Yes so there's going to be all these things happening that are happening in New Jersey with the alleged drone sightings. I really think that this was all drummed up in light of this drone band trying to get passed. I live right in the heart of where all these drones sightings were supposed to be and from first-hand experience I can tell you that there was no drones in my vicinity that I saw. Everything that was on the news and everything that people were claiming they were seeing were most likely airplanes either at a distance or coming straight at them so they look like they were standing still. Honestly the whole thing reeks of misdirection and non accountability for reckless drone pilots and their giant drones, AKA large agricultural drones from DJI are the only drones that could have possibly fit these descriptions that people are claiming. How convenient. Suffice it to say at least it didn't pass this time, and hopefully these alleged drone sightings die down because there literally isn't any credible evidence that can be seen other than the ones that look like airplanes

@@secretbassrigs Let’s be real Sir if this was truly about national security, then the focus wouldn’t just be on DJI. Look at all the other products we use every day that are made in China cell phones, TVs, radios, GPS devices, walkie-talkies, and even cars built in Chinese factories. All of these could pose the same kind of “security risks” people claim DJI drones do. Yet, they’re everywhere in America, no questions asked. The truth is, this isn’t about protecting us-it’s about money and market control. Companies like Skydio are leveraging politics to eliminate DJI because they can’t compete on quality or price. Instead of improving their products, they’re trying to manipulate the system to push DJI out, hurting thousands of small business owners in the process. Follow the money, and you’ll see it clearly: this isn’t about national security. It’s about greed and locking the market in their favor, regardless of how much damage it does to us. If you’re going to ban DJI over “security risks,” then be consistent. Ban all the other Chinese-made tech we rely on daily. But they won’t do that, will they? Because it’s not really about security at all.

I still think it's great news. Even if it's for 12 months. I think it's a win, until they finally ban DJI. Which like you said, it's very unlikely. I think DJI should make a warehouse in the USA. This ain't no win, a delay at best. You are missing a big part of the puzzle, Brendan Carr has been nominated to chair the FCC, he's been pushing to put DJI on the Covered List for some time now
@SteelCityDronesАй бұрын
We could not disagree with more. It is a huge win because if we were not proactive with it the ban would have went through. A lot of people worked very hard. You are also missing the big picture in that the DJI has sued the DOJ with Obama's former AG taking the case. They don't take cases that they have not vetted or win. That all ties in with DJI security and what is a national threat. We are aware of Carr's past, however he has no power to add DJI to the list, it has to come from Congress.
@LoneStarUAVАй бұрын
@SteelCityDrones Carr may not have the authority to place DJI on the Covered List, but he can instruct his department to delay new authorizations pending outcome of the investigation.
