What is the maximum range/distance you activated the mechanism? (I don't mean the height)

Wish I could answer, but we have only used it from directly underneath. Short range. Only about 100'.

With the model they have it only has a range of about 150-180 feet high but with a better model you can go to 300 feet

Would be really nice if there was a rechargeable battery in the remote for the device (there is one in the unit). I left the remote on and now we need $5 in batteries for a $20 item.

Thanks. We used it twice. Still works. Not sure how well it would hold up over time, but it worked for our single need.
