One of the most important tips. Always know where the front of your drone is. Some people will even change the color of the front propellers to help keep track.

I like the five steps to show someone now to fly a drone. It seems like many people are just scared to touch the control after they see it fly. This is a good way to build some skills, some confidence and keep your drone out of harm's way until they are ready to advance to the next step.

A test is a dji Spark.It,like the yuneec,and the Autel ,essentially flies itself.I would recommend,the Syma,with the caveat,that it has a really crappy camera,where the others have pretty decent cameras.Thanksnfor the video

Good info for a drone noob like me. I bought a U818A Kolibri to learn on, and the first thing I did was practice taking off and landing, over and over again. Still working on mastering step 3. For me it's more like, "Forward, good. Now backward. Not that far backward! Forward again! Why is it going left? Go right, go right dammit! Stop! Sit! Stay! Arrghhh!" Luckily I have a field full of tall, soft grass to practice my uncontrolled ground contact maneuvers.

J Bennett I think trim can be awkward, I think it can be partly down to the controller. I believe that you should re calibrate the Gryos before every flight on a level surface, Wait until lights stop flashing, then trim. Depends on drone model, only just started.
@arkansasoutpost8 жыл бұрын
I don't think this one has gyros. I've thought of trimming it in the garage, to take the wind out of the equation. (There's always wind around here.) In any case, I finally bought an Autel X-Star Premium. That's a whole different experience, and a lot of fun.

The Syma X5SW is my drone and an AWESOME one for the $$. I paid $40 for it and of course bought extra batteries, props and parts for it for a total of around $100. It comes with a camera which I don't use because I don't have a smart phone but don't care. It has 6 gyros so it hovers like a champ. I've been playing with it in my gameroom and have gotten very good with the controls. It comes with a 500mahr battery but it's not bad. Just a simple $20 upgrade and you get (6) 750mhr batteries with charger so you have endless fun. easy to fly? My god yes. Because of the gyros I can pick up a GI Joe guy off a table with ease. Now the trick is to put it into headless mode for beginners. Just follow the directions. It's a great toy!

So one thing on the "return" button is that it has to do with where you are in relation to your drone when you bind it. Be sure that you are about 5 meters (15 feet) away when you bind. It's also best if the drone is facing away from you when you start out. Hope that helps and thanks for watching!

Hardest thing to overcome in my opinion is the opposite control when the drone is facing you and coming toward you. You have to overcome the instinct of pushing the stick in the direction you want the drone to move. I'm slowly learning to overcome that instinct but it's difficult to counter especially in an emergency situation.

@readysetdrone7 жыл бұрын
I think the original Syma X5C-1 did not have headless mode, but the later versions do, but double check before you buy. It will either say it on the web site or the box if you are buying at a retail outlet. And, for the most part, you don't have to format SD cards before you take pictures. You SHOULD format the cards, but you don't have to.

1st try - auto - up about 3 feet and drifted toward street- I could not get it back or make it land, almost hit by 2 cars , finally came down in yard 2 houses down 2nd try - manual take off, drifted toward fence, could not get it to auto land - it finally came down - not sure if I caused it or it did it on its own. I am not using the cell phone (yet) and did not do a calibration - could that cause the problems? maybe I just need more experience update - 3rd flight much better, learning to control, beginner mode very sensitive to wind

Hi Kelly, love the channel. I am new to drones. My first purchase is a Storm Type A S3 from HeliPal, and I have the radiolink AT9 transmitter/remote control. One thing I am a little confused on is the channels.Is there any good resource on how all of the transmitter/receiver stuff works, and then more specifically, how to make sure I am on the right channel on the drone, controller, and the FPV goggles? One question is, once you bind the controller to the drone, will they follow each other onto another channel? Or are "channels" only a concern between FPV goggles and the video transmitter on the drone? To get my FatShark Dominator V3 to work, I basically had to keep pressing a channel change button on my drone, and then cycle through all channels on the fatshark after each press. Eventually the display came up, but it looked kind of grainy which I didnt expect when I am right next to it. Is there more than one channel that could show me video on the FatShark, but it won't look good until I find the best one? Sorry for all the rookie questions but I have been reading the manuals for drone, AT9, and FatShark and there isn't anything that brings it all together coherently, so if you know a resource that could help me that would be great.

i have a question. I had a cheapy drone that i used with my kids. We lost it so many times. Seemed like when it got too high it would just start taking off like a block down the street. If i buy a really good drone with GPS would it be "easier" to fly? Not wanting to do tricks but just take some videos and just do some cool FPV flying. Just that one experience with that crappy drone has put me off. But i see videos with all kinds of people like farmers or policemen flying drones 3 blocks away from them with no issue.

Coming from the RC world I agree with most of what you are saying. I teach people how to hover tail in (this is also part of the learning to use the throttle to hold a hover) just the way I teach it. then once they can hover tail in I teach them how to fly straight away and straight back like you do and then left and right, I then teach them how to do the same with the nose in so they understand left is right and forward is backwards and so on. once they master this 99% of the orientation problems are gone as they know that just turning a 1/4 turn in any direction puts them in a place they can control! Great video again thanks for sharing.. and great choice of the first drone used to train I use a JJRC HSC5 for all my new pilots

Hi guys! I’m a musician from Mexico and I recently bought a drone just lIke the one you show on this video. I play at parties sometimes outdoors, sometimes indoors and my idea of bringing a drone is to shoot some nice vids instead of just selfies of the best moments. So my question is, do you recommend to master the outdoor basics and then start to practice indoors? Or is it a complete different approach? Thank you! (I’m gonna hire my 16 yr old son to do the flying job 😜)
