Everything I need to know seems to be there. You'll probably come up with something else that I don't know about but won't have to worry about when you find and update it. This just gets better and better. Thanks for all you do!

Thank you, Gary! NOTAM visibility is next up and will be a very good addition. Yet another important area that is potentially crucial, yet made SO difficult by arcane systems and cryptic jargon.

I'm really glad I decided to give your app a try. It is pretty great. One touch to evaluate the airspace is KEY. Really REALLY well done. Cheers

Thanks for the great app and the cool videos! Much appreciated. In the video you demo the ability to measure distance and bearing to a chosen point. Since it's referencing the map, I assume that your bearing is shown in degrees True. It would be cool if it could also show degrees Magnetic. This could help when on-site and having to assess directions using a compass. Thanks!
@DonJoyce3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, John! Yes, good point...the bearings shown in the app are always True, not magnetic. This is an interesting suggestion that I will pass along to the developer. I'm concerned that too many options and information can lead to clutter and reduce usability, but perhaps he has a clever solution.

Have you checked out the What3words SEARCH and RESCUE LOCATION APP.....just curious if you had time yet

Yes!! It is very cool and unusual...what a strange and clever idea! I better not tell my developer about it or we'll suddenly have it in Drone Pilot Canada!

I purchased the app it is amazing but how can I copy location so I can paste it to my phone GPS so I drive to the chosen location?!
@DonJoyce3 жыл бұрын
Glad you are enjoying Drone Pilot Canada! One easy way to copy the lat long is to tap the map, select Assess Airspace, and choose Export. When you select your email app, the lat long is put into the body of the email. Cut n paste from there! Hope that helps!

So I'm transferring from my Android Galaxy S20 which I had the app on. To a iPhone 13. So because I have already paid for the drone map app on my android do I have to pay for it again on my new iPhone 13 ?? @Don Joyce.
@DonJoyce2 жыл бұрын
Hi Peter! The Drone Pilot Canada license is tied to your Apple account or Google account. It cannot be transferred between the Apple and Android platforms. As such, if you have both Android and Apple devices, you need to purchase Drone Pilot Canada for each one. That said, the data will synchronize between the platforms automatically should you choose to keep your older phone.

Where can i order one of those "Drone Pilot Canada" T-shirts. Don your app is amazing. I tell all my fellow pilots in my area about it. You are doing all of the RPAS pilots in Canada a great service. Keep it up sir. and a Big thank you from BC

I did a couple of courses with AlteX Academy including an in person flight review training before taking the flight review. I asked them what they thought of the app and they said it’s good but that looking for controlled/restricted airspace and notams isn’t reliable because it isn’t updated constantly. They said the flight logs and pre flight checklists are good though. I was wondering do you rely on your app for notams and controlled/restricted airspace?
@DonJoyce3 ай бұрын
Drone Pilot Canada's aerodromes, controlled airspace, and restricted zone data is updated immediately upon release of updates from NAV CANADA based upon their official publications, every 56 days. NOTAMs are updated instantly.

Thanks for this Video Don. I was already impressed by what I saw having just purchased your app and now even more! Lots of works went into this app, it makes flight planning and situational awareness a breeze allowing for more time to fly! Extremely happy with my purchase.
@DonJoyce3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Roger! And that is exactly the intent...easily deal with procedures and situational awareness so the flying can be fun!

Hi Don, love the app just curious about the radar colour coding. It’s confusing as to what the colours mean can you explain please I tried looking for reference to the colours but couldn’t find one. Perhaps it’s just me?
@DonJoyce6 ай бұрын
The colours on the radar view are intensity of precipitation. Blue is very light, with strength increasing with brightness...green yellow orange red. Hope that helps.

The app looks cool but 50 bucks Canadian on each platform? Hard pass.
@DonJoyce3 жыл бұрын
I'm not trying to change your mind, but keep in mind that this is a one-time fee and includes all the regular aerodrome/airspace updates (every 56 days), feature additions, and typically same-day support (or faster). You will not find a full-featured app anything like this anywhere.
@user-vt6yz3ef5y3 жыл бұрын
@@DonJoyce Thanks for your honest response. I will have to get both to support development.
