I don't mind paying a few bucks for an useful, well designed product. Everyone seems to want all these apps to be free of charge, even though it takes actual work to create things like this to benefit us, as remote pilots, and safety in general.

Been using this for a while now. One of the beta testers. Still hasn't got enough info regarding manned or unmanned restriction. They have addressed the CTR info by adding its for manned aviation. But specified zone etc is still unclear for which category its referring to

I live on the south coast and notice the whole of the coast line is marked hazardous area. Is this how I read it I can’t fly my DJI mini 4 pro ?

The only switchable map layer is lower regulated airspace? The other options are on and cannot be unset? Android and latest version of the app.

Great app Drone Assist I use it many times but as for the weather I use UAV Forecast for more info and the Kp Index.

The seemingly new automated UTM service referred to is a 3yr late adoption from The FAA LAANC system it seems. As a Part 107 pilot, I have used that since 2019. Its slick and completely automated. I hope THE UK version is as good.

Just zoomed in on the new Drone assist app to plan a coastal flight & found that almost all of the British coastline is now in “Yellow” no fly zone because of SSSI’s. This seems to mean basically that no drone flights are allowed along the coast apart from a few small gaps. Places I have flown for years now appear restricted. Non compliance is the only option.

You can fly anywhere with a 249G drone, if it isn’t displaying any restrictions, then you should be all good. I’m currently trying to add an aircraft to the app so I can get accurate and current information from the app correspondent with my drone and its specs

The app was never any good!! However, I need to re-consider the new version. The best & relatively new compliance app, UAV Pilot Pal, offers as much & more as far as I can see. Anyone serious about flying (especially compliantly) would be mad to not get UAV Pilot Pal.

Yeah I am a bit worried about the woolly comments for many zones. Watching this a year after it was produced. App shows swathes of areas in yellow, ‘area of increased risk’ like from Truro to west covering the whole of SW Cornwall. I can see no detailed guide as to what this actually means, can I not fly at all in which case it is super limiting. Obvious spots like airports are crystal clear. This is an AIAA Culdrose training zone although I have never seen them training west of Penzance. Just be good to know if I can fly in yellow zones or not. I am a newbie researching all of this before spending hundreds on a drone . . . or not!

Its a great app.... But will only run on the most updated phones that have iOS 13. Shame on Altitude Angel for that. Thousand's of us cannot use it. But nice review.

Long time since I have watched your videos. Use to watch things like TNL until that one show and I unsubscribed from Ken and pretty much gave up drones. Sold the one I had which was the Air and just never found the interest or the money to buy a new one. Fixed income just limits the funds for the fun things in life
