Just did this hike today. Pretty wild! Plan ahead, and bring plenty of water! Don't start late, especially in the warmer months. We hit the trail at 5am, and reached the top of Flatiron by 745. Took a ton of short breaks to save our legs and lungs. A few spots where you're really using your arms and lift/assist with getting up some boulders or rocks. Lower body crusher the whole way up. Think leg day x 10, or Camelback x 2. Recover at the top for a nice break. Heading down was a lot of upper body, and far more treacherous. Took 90 minutes, because gravity is on your side. Descending is 1/2 the effort of going up, twice the wear and tear on your body (feet & knees). Pick your steps wisely! Don't bring small kids or dogs (we did see one dog at the summit, but you're risking injury, and it's not worth the risk, plain and simple. Have good knobby hiking shoes or boots. Did this in Montrail trail runners, and lost some good chunks of my sole (soul?! haha). Also; GLOVES. You're silly if you don't have them. Your hand work is important, and you'll chew up your mitts if you don't have gloves. Get the rubbery/grippy $5 ones. They sell them at gas stations or hardware stores. Have fun, be smart, and be SAFE!

Really nice footage and views. I wonder how did you filmed it. Did you climb the Flatiron first and did the flights from there? I tried once to fly from the ground and I quickly hit the 500m limit.

Thanks! I filmed it from the valley floor. I have a Phantom 3 Advanced with old firmware and use an old version of third party software (Litchi) that had no altitude limit. You need to be able to do about 3000 feet (900m) to get these shots without climbing to the Flatiron.
