Similar places elsewhere in the world are surrounded by clear, clean, blue, water. Ours - brackish looking surrounding water. We look at the structures and feel satisfied with how we are doing completely ignoring the surroundings.

The whole of the UK is an island country but it’s only Portsmouth that is a wholly island city within that country, so you will do better to compare apples with apples and oranges with oranges and not be mixing and matching to advance your preferred narrative. Get off your “whataboutism” argument and deal with the point that similar places in the world are surrounded by clear, clean, blue water and accept the challenge that our Banana island can and should boast the same appealing surroundings if we put our minds to it. Your defense should not come down to “because the River that runs through London (Thames) is brownish therefore it’s OK for our Banana island waters to also be brackish”.
