@@RisenDumbRiderwe have one of the larger racing communities in Houston and have an open invitation for anyone with a drone that needs help to come find us. So we have all sat elbow to elbow giving up our own flight time to pull out our soldering irons and help where we can. Often times these cheap BNF’s were already burnt or damaged. We fix what we can, and often times donate our own spares if we can manage to get someone flying. But many times we can’t and then we never see them again. I don’t blame them. If I got suckered into spending hundreds of dollars only to see it break right away and seek out help and have to hear the hard words from the local experts that you made a bad choice. It would sting. We always can tell what channels they watched by what they showed up with. And many times they would tell us even quoting the words “so and so channel told me it was the best! Wow ... I stepped away from FPV for 3 months, realizing today that I haven't taken in a JB stream or vid for quite awhile, and look at the unfortunate mass of dookie news I walked into. What can I say, except I hope we can rinse away all this shit, and remain that tight, supportive, respectful community I was so happy to be involved with. Only thing else I can say right now is, while JB has always been the most informative FPV dude IMHO, there's nothing wrong with BG bringin' a lil dose of Snoop Dogg to the FPV party and make this hobby fun in a whole different way. It was NO fun when, within the space of 10 days last summer, I wrecked and lost over $1750 worth of quadcopters, and I almost quit this pastime swirling in anger and utter defeat (and by the noob stories flooding Reddit as they learn the use-the-flight-sim lesson, I wasn't the only one). But luckily, on the day that I starting making kijiji fpv gear for sale ads, this dude I never heard of called Botgrinder, comes outta nowhere with some GUTBUSTING hilarious fpv content, and suddenly everything's fun again. And @Joshua: 'bullying' is such a SPOT-ON analysis of what I saw in that C&D, but always remember, at the end of the day: bullying is not a show of strength, it never was. Bullies do what bullies do, not because they want to - but because they NEED to. Maybe we should just let them. Seriously, there's no room for that bs in this hobby. Sorry this was so long.... just my 2(000)¢. PEACE.

As this whole thing blew up, all I could think is that drone camps took Bot's video as a retaliation for him using Botgrinder's name and face in a thumbnail for his Remote ID video, despite Bot's video being released to botgrinder's patreons like a week before the RID video was dropped. Bot has also been talking about this since the release of his video essay on the history of FPV and the blight of "influencers" on his live streams for what feels like years now. From not asking Botgrinder to use his picture in the thumbnail to sell remote id modules to sending the cease and desist letter, Drone Camps is on a pretty self destructive streak. And I know botgrinder used DC's thumbnails in his video, that would be considered fair use of a price of content since he is using them to ilistrate the pervasivness of the issue he feels is damaging the hobby. While his actions are very much in the wrong, I hope DC is okay.

I'm glad I found bardwell and not Dronecamps when I first wanted to start the hobby a couple of years ago... I probably wouldn't be in the same position now and enjoying my time flying

LOL! I miss the days of NAZA, DJI Flame wheel arms/TBS Quadcopters and the new stm32 and Naze boards. There were only pilots not business guys except Trappy and Black Out the start of 5" racing frames. Guest is gong to hyperventilate like chill no Emotional Damage. loL!

I remember complaining that he had so many videos where the thumbnail said Best 5”, or best FPV goggles, etc…. It was always the best something. He would always be calling Best Drone of the year in February.

Damn, I didn't know I still had respect to lose for DC...

Love the drama, funny discussion, Joshua/Blunty you guys rock. Bot's stuff is super funny too. You guys are speaking the truth about this case!

Some absolutely SAVAGE truths at the end there!

Yeah, it's crazy because no one would have cared very much, but he drew a bunch of attention to himself playing the victim. If Blunty gets that mad at you you're really messing up 😅.

That's what I am saying. It could have blown over in a week if nobody escalated. As Joe Rogan has said many times "Post and Ghost". And then JB said essentially the same thing near the end of this video. They figured out the forumla.

I stopped watching drone camps when i went from wanting to fly to actually flying. It became clear quickly he had no idea what he was talking about, and was kind of a toolbox

Apparently, I enjoy when intelligent people address ignorance and pettiness on a public platform.

I'm 3-4 months into FPV and never heard of DroneCamps before. Any publicity is good publicity and I wouldn't have been introduced to DroneCamps without this. Loved his most recent video which was a snazzy take on escaping military FPV drone chasing you - great content. JB's suspicion is right, DC's channel's heyday was 6 years ago and he nary gets a few thousand views now, not enough to sustain a living. KZbin drama is the best drama

Maybe this will push drone amps to innovate. I avoided his channel before for obvious reasons but when the bot drama dropped (because I follow bot) I paused to look at DC. I noticed too that there was some original content coming out and wondered what inspired that. Now he can innovate or double down, hope he takes the high road.

Several years back when I first got into FPV I watched some of Drone Camps vids and quickly noticed everything was the best thing ever. Me already flying R/C planes since I was a kid and seeing some of his vids pertaining to airplanes is what really turned me away from his channel. All that just to say I flushed him and his channel like a big turd years back. 😁

13:33 He's losing reputation; he was already on the ropes when he did that pivot to an NFT/Crypto channel(that lasted something like a week because NFTs crashed like they obviously would), and like Blunty said there was the video where he all but said he was only doing this to feed his family. Sadly this stunt is only going to make what little reputation he had go down the tubes. He should have just played it off as "I'm just a golden retriever stuck in a man's body so I love everything!" and moved on, but his ego apparently got in the way.
