Justin just so you know because of you, I just purchased my 4th DJI Drone after only 6 weeks of flying I am truly sick! I have the Tello, Mavic Air fly more combo in white, Mavic Pro Platinum Fly more combo with DJI Goggles RE and the PH4 Pro Obsidian all with 4 batteries because I am obsessed Haha 🤪 I purchased the Mavic Pro Platinum after the PH4 Pro to get that perfect Ocusync wireless goggle experience which is truly amazing but also upgraded the PH4P controller with the HDMI module so I can use the iPad mini 4 with the RE Goggles at the same time like the Platinum... I am so hooked it’s ridiculous but thank God I have a very understanding wife! I absolutely love all your videos! Hmmm, maybe Inspire 2 next uh oh 🙈 Hehe

Here's another tip on something I do. Just like when starting an aircraft, either a rotor craft or fixed wing, distinctively yell "Clear." If you're mostly flying by yourself on a daily basis, it should be fine to avoid, however, if you ever find yourself taking off close to friends, or just curious onlookers on more than one occasion, it is a good habit to have. Anything can happen in an instant, and Drones have been known to occasionally go haywire, so it's better that you have some breathing room for errors. Just like with aircraft, the most dangerous parts of flight are taking off and landing. Plus, it also helps others who may be nearby see how safe some pilots are, and could help down the road in regards to their perspective on drones as a whole. That is one of the many things that the aviation training hammers into you, and it is even in some, if not most aircraft checklists as well.

Thank you for such a great video, your teaching abilities and your willing to explain every detail made it so nice to follow. I got the Phantom 4 pro white, and yes it's the first drone I have ever flown. I've had it for about a week now, and been up once due to always working. I'm lucky enough to have a jo where I can follow videos like yours to lean much more before being in the air. I subscribed, liked, and followed to be sure I can learn as much as possible by you. Thank you and I hope to do well with this drone, it's been a desire of mine for a while.

LOL this is so funny talking about orientation... We learned this on our own the hard way back in 1980 when I started my RC career...of course drones were just dreams back then. It's just funny to see this now online for those who never picked up an transmitter of any kind. Good stuff man. It sure would of been a lot easier back in 1980 if we had videos like this LOL Take care. Very good video!... My very first RC project was an "Eaglet 50 kit" (which you had to build from a box of wood) with an .21 K&B glow engine and an 4 channel AM Futaba radio. Take note newbies and PAY ATTENTION!!. :)
@dronecamps6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Alan. My first kit I build as a kid was a Gentle Lady. My first nitro was an Easy Bee with an .049 😊 Just bought an old one on EBay. I got a Carl Goldberg Eaglet before they stopped selling them. He’s the man! Classic stuff. Most of my tutorials are based on what the older plane guys taught me at the field. Just passing on that knowledge to the new guys. 👍🏻

I've watched many vids to help me learn all about my 4Pro. I was shocked to learn recently that the all around obstacle avoidance works ONLY in beginner mode and tripod mode. for the rest of the time only the front and rear sensors are working....side and downward sensors are off! I have confirmation from DJI on this. How many owners know this little fact? Disappointing they aren't all active in P mode. Otherwise its a great Drone. Thanks for your video. Tim (Australia)

Nice job. It's so important that people start slow and steady, I flew toys for two years while the industry became what it is now! then I transitioned to an X220 FPV quadcopter and it was a natural and thrilling experience, everything was under control because I was ready for pretty much anything with a lot more power and that changes the game but you're ready for it...Cheers

What's up again man? Quick question. I just bought another Obsidian, that is phenomenal, but the batteries are not good. Fortunately, I have 4 extras, but to go on, if the charger shows yellow light (or God forbid, a red light) on the bottom of the charger, can they be saved, or should I just throw them away?

There needs to be a speaker where you can play music and stuff on the drone, that would be cool especially in areas where there are a lot of people. There's LED propellers i wanna see a speaker, never seen one on the market. I would love to play music or a siren or something to get peoples attention that would be cool, like if you agree speakers need to be on the drone with long range Bluetooth compatibility. I live in Florida and that's the jam down here its all about music especially in Miami. I just brought it cant wait to have it delivered.

Nice video Justin. I think one other con is that when on the ground on start up the lens on the camera points straight down and if on gravel or rough ground the lens could get scratched. I think it is time for DJI to change the design since every other company in the world has copied the Phantom look. Thanks again for all you do.

Colour shift - to one that's maybe the very hardest to see in any conditions apart from maybe snow. If shifting colour I think should have given an option to a day-glo colour, maybe hot Lime or Orange. If something goes wrong and one of these charcoal birds goes down it's more or less a waste of time searching for it unless it's got a tracker fitted.

Beautiful footage at the end there! Absolutely amazing! Does it has the same flickering as the Mavic has? I thought I could see some evidence of that in the footage here and there. You know, because on the Mavic each 8th frame is an I-frame with more noise in it, you get that flickering. Very annoying in the Mavic that I fly. I wondered if it's the same on the P4PO.

Hi Justin, Great Stuff - My need is to fully understand battery management of the quad and controller -It is a very complex subject and I need to know HOW not to damage them - Plus how to charge correctly, using fully charge and store plus how long can you leave full charged batteries, when to run them down fully every few months and why and how many cycles before replacing them..etc The batteries are costly and screwing them is very easier to do..

sometimes u are getting low on battery n u dont have time to spin the drone to check the orientation to pull it back , as to me i avoid that method, the best way is , on the screen there is a small red arrow that shows the direction u have flown, all u do is just spin it n make sure the arrow points home n u will come home safe

Great videos Justin and also great pointers. Are the videos from the Chesapeake Bay area? I purchased a Mavic Pro about a month ago and have yet to fly it. But, I also purchased an inexpensive quad, an Aeosenma CG035. I have been honing my flying skills with the execises you have shown for some time now in VLOS. This quad has really decent GPS and altitude hold. I also have an inexpensive action cam attached , so I can review my flights and see what I was doing from the quad perspective. So, as you stated, when I do begin to fly the Mavic, it should be much easier for me and I should know what to do in a hairy situation. I am a senior and figured this approach would be the best for me having grown up in an era when none of the modern technology was available at all. What my situation has taught me is to be very patient and especially acclimate to the sensitivity of the sticks. Also, the more you practice, the lower your "freak outs" become.....lol. My ultimate goal is to save up and add one of the Phantom 4's to my line up. Keep up the great work and keep the videos coming.
