Like Boosted, but better. Same range, speed, and size, but one important feature the Boosted board doesn't have... Dual in-wheel Direct Drive Brushless Motors and no belt drive to replace! If you were wanting a Boosted board forever. You will thank me for this video. Enjoy the ride without all the gears and belt drives!

Looks like a nicely finished board. I just got a Koowheel V2 and love it. The Koowheel has twin 350w motors, and easily the same range. I got it last week ,so haven't had a chance to ride it till the battery is exhausted, but I went 6 miles on it and the 40% battery warning didn't come on. I paid AU$800 ,which is about US$630. These electric skateys are so good, I turned 51 this year and have never had so much fun.

Thx for the support on the old guys, in my mid 50's and still surf, skate and motocross plus train and breed K9's which to be honest keeps me in shape just as much as the anything I have ever done. This board is radical, can not imagine skating with a brush-less motor around the block could be super cool with the dogs. Thx for sharing!

Absolutely! You are welcome. I’m from Cape Hatteras Carolina where the old guys are still taking waves from young guys. And to this date one of the best ramp skaters on the island is in his late 40s and still killing it. About training canines really keeps you on your toes. My old Australian healer lived to be 17. He went surfing and camping with me everywhere I went. He sure was my buddy and my best friend.

Thanks for bringing this up. Cool board. Belt drives are not just "old tech". They have their place. You can put Much larger motors on a belt drive system rather than an in-hub design. You have customizability with different motors and wheels and even gearing. Say you move to a more hilly area and want taller gears for steeper slopes. Say you want a better/stronger motor or it burns out. Say you want a 2kW motor because you're nuts. You can't do that with hub motors. But they are more maintenance. Deck certainly looks like bamboo on my screen. Maybe a maple core... How does one ride this board without the battery??? Lol. The grip tape is too grippy? Why not just give it 5 stars? Is giving something 5 stars such a bad thing?

Nice review! Personally, I'm still buying the boosted board (ordered it today). I may upgrade to an in-wheel motor board later, but for me, the torque and acceleration of belt driven is so much better, that I'm willing to deal with the maintenance. They also seem to have really good customer service and I know if something goes wrong, I can send it in. The Pomello board seams really cool though!

Jack Meadows I’ve had a B.B. V2 for about a year now, and it’s required almost no maintenance. I’ve had to change to belts once (around 450ish miles) and it wasn’t that big of a deal. I have almost 1,000 miles on it and haven’t had any issues so far. I LOVE it.

84 watt charger, nice. Curious what batteries they are using. The warning about the not riding without the battery is probably because of inductive spikes and motor electric feedback. My guess is they take this energy and pit it back into the battery. So without the battery a fast so would generate power and have no place to go and damage the board. Just like a fast stop with a prop on a quad motor blowing out the ESC. In fact, it has to have ESC’s for each motor, probably all built on the board. Maybe version two will have a separate main board and esc’s so of this happens they can be replaced. I think I’ll wait for someone to damage the main board, buy it broken and fix the board. A good remainder for all is if your not going to ride for a while don’t keep the battery fully charged. You will be able to get m,re use out of the battery. I would keep the LED about 70% if you can. But with such a fast 1.5 hour charger it’s not a big deal. To charge that last 30% would be fast, probably under 30 minutes as you get ready to leave and pack up.

This almost feels like a sponsored video :D Most unknown brands make mistakes, on paper it looks good, but what i want is a review by someone who has ridden this for a few months. Cuz usually these break or problems start to appear after like a month of riding. Battery pack usually fries the contacts and it doesnt work anymore. Also, the hub motors can be low quality and start to spin around the axis, tearing a wire or worse, breaking the hub motor. Depends on the acceleration and ur weight. Belt systems are more reliable, appart from the belts breaking.

MadOss my friend bought a genesis board( a no name electric skate board) that had good specs and it performed amazing for about 1 week, then the esc fried and the hub motors burned out. @edwin6690

I would stay away from “direct drive” or hub motors. They have no gearing (like belt driven systems) so they stall uphill. Belts are not difficult to change. Hubs are basically motors wrapped in a 1/4” of urethane. The ride is bumpy. You’ll wince on every sidewalk crack because you’re rocking the motors with every thump. Be aware that electric skateboards require maintenance. Boosted provides incredible customer service. I don’t know if this clone has a US service shop that does repairs. $700 is a lot of money to burn even if it’s less expensive in the moment.

I am 60 and was thinking about an electric skate board but I went with an electric RadRover electric bike. Thing is when you get older and you take a bad fall on a skateboard it takes a long time to recover and I still have to work. This board looks nice but I would like to see a longer range longer than 7 miles. Think a newer board should get double that. 7 miles can go by very quickly.

I personally still like to have belts. Twice I had brushless motors, and twice the board failed me. No, it wasn't the motors that failed me, but the 8 screws which are used to attach the motors to the trucks. If you were to ride them out in abnormal weather (too hot or too cold), it might degrade the screws. For me, they eventually snapped after 3-4 months and since the screws were snapped, that means the top was stripped so I can't even remove the screws. I had to send it back for warranty. Even though I received a brand new one, the same exact thing happened.

EDIT: Forgot to ask, how is the drag when you peddle? On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being like a conventional board peddle and 10 being, can't peddle at all when the battery dies or is low. Thanks again for the review! ORIGINAL POST: Solid review bro. I wanted a boosted board when they first came out, but it's too pricey. I feel like the Boosted brand is like iOS and this P5 is like Android. And I'm a 100% Android guy. Also, you definitely pointed out the weakness of the Boosted board, with that old ass tech. I'mma still shop around but this P5 review is convincing, though I might just get modular kits and strap it on to my favorite Sector 9 board. Don't know yet. There are so many electric boards out there nowadays and I'm just looking for a great board for a great price.

It take me about 3 minutes to change the belt and then I’m off and if you get a good brand of belt I can last a hundred miles before even having to change it which is very good. And you haven’t even ridden a boosted so don’t try and act like you know everything about boosted.

I take it that the screensaver on your phone is your dog? He looks just like our rescue (his name is Chance...like Homeward Bound) who was physically abused for the first 5 years of his life. The original parents went to court and was given a punishment that didn't fit the crime. The reason why I am posting is that I was wondering if you could help me out? When we adopted him the foster parents didn't know his breed or his age, so for the last 5 years we've been searching all over for another dog that looks like our Chance, to no avail. How does one replace the back wheel on this? Boosted fits many dif longboard wheel companies so your not limited in that area. How does the motor wheel ride when coasting or if it locks up? Boosteds belts that you say are old tech are reliable in that way, you break a belt you are not confined to the motor. You can quickly unplug that wheel or both and cut the belts to make it more like a normal push skateboard. Im noticing your pros, are cons for me. You have me on skid plates but if the belts prevent the above, Im ok with having some plates to help. Please ride a boosted for a week then re-review this, I have a feeling you will be happy with the money spent. Also 14 mile range on my boosted and 20+MPH. You can get 30+MPH with the kegal speed hack also. Not a joke.

How does it roll when it dies? Let's say you go around 6 miles and it dies 4 blocks away from your apartment...Can you skate home like a long board? It is brushless, so I assume there is plenty of play and we should be able to skate normally right?

They say it might hurt the logic board. But who really knows though. I think since you have regenerative motors once their spooled up then you would get power back into the system which could possibly hurt any electric skateboard with regenerative power set up.

Does this board have the same flex as a Boosted Board? Also, it would have been nice if you did a head to head comparison with the Boosted. Things like acceleration comparison, braking, board flex, responsiveness, top speed flat, top speed on inclines, etc.

Please do another review after 6 months. I have had boards fail after 6 months more than once. Boosted delivers after sale value, and can be maintained. My wheels keep getting chewed up with fixed wheels, and with brushless motors you can't change wheels.

Are the wheels for the hub motors replaceable or do you have to replace the entire hub/wheel? If I can't replace just the wheel then it's a no go for me. That's my only issue with most hub motor boards. Belts are cheaper than hub motors.

I've tried a few boards now, I have never been on a hub motor board that has come even close to a belt driven one. Maybe i'm biased because I've been riding on my Evolve GT for almost 2 years now. Another pro is that i can change out to whatever wheel I need to (hard/soft/smaller/larger/wider etc.). Of course there are always cons to belt driven, but they are cons that I definitely can live with. In my honest opinion, there is no perfect board.
@edwin6690

Drone Camps RC hub motors are notorious for damage because the rider is basically crushing them between their weight and the bumpy road. It’s far easier to change a belt than a motor. There’s a reason high performance vehicles still use belts. And hubs are terrible on hills.
