Black= asphalt (Cheaper than concrete gets damaged within 4-5 years, good for bridges), Grey = Concrete (Expensive but more durable, very good for expressway roads)

FYI that black patch of road is not a repair. It is a culvert. Look closely. Most likely it was made later than the rest of the road on land. Just educating you
