Not thorough enough to point out that it takes Lithium batteries not Alkaline and they even gave him a set. I guess he doesn’t read instructions.

The included D alkaline batteries are for the mount lights. Lithium are used for the camera.

Just bought and mounted mine on a backyard downspout using a pole mount. This video was very helpful, especially the detail about assembly - assisted me in resolving the mystery as to why at first I couldn't get the floodlight back slid left onto the mount. I had the D cell battery compartment screwed on upside down! LOL! Many other videos skimmed over some of the fine detail of assembly and mounting. Yours was the most helpful.

ty sir. after a few glitches i am now totally sold on blink. glitch is rearming/changing wifi for hub. now have seven blink systems and 56 outdoor cameras with the photo voltaic panels. as long as wifi available distance phone monitoring is great.

There is a trick to doing that with the newer doorbell so there may be a comparable battery housing requiring the same effort to get it to work.

No, the motion sensing is done by the camera and that's what triggers the lights to turn on. There is no motion sensing in the light itself so you'll need the camera attached.

Rick don’t these cams and lights use Lithium batteries, not Alkaline? It makes a big difference in battery life and will effect user satisfaction and review results. Do you think it is important to update your videos to make needed corrections and read the instructions in the first place?

Thanks for the post and I do extensive research and testing on all of the gear I review, including this Blink Floodlight mount. Unlike the individual Blink cameras that use Lithium batteries, this unit takes Alkaline D-Cell batteries to power the lights and the single camera it supports. I know that it may be confusing, but with this accessory you won't need batteries in the camera itself since these D-cells provide all of the power required. I hope that helps clear things up.

My floodlight does not come on unless your on the porch. I wish I knew how to adjust it to where the floodlight will come on when someone/something is in the vicinity :/

Gina, the sensor on this unit is a little "closer" in than some of the others and will detect movement from side to side a little better than someone approaching the camera. I had to experiment a little with mine to get the sensor positioned correctly. The good news is that you can point the sensor where you need it and point the lights in any other direction.

You still need the double A’s for the camera when you attach it to the flood light flood light does not power the camera

Thanks for the post but you actually don't need batteries in the camera since the same batteries that provide power for the spotlight also power the camera. That's the beauty of this system. You can pop in batteries and mount it anywhere you need light and a camera.

The device consumes the camera's batteries very quickly, I have already regulated the intensity of the light, the duration of the clips, the quality of the video, the batteries do not last 15 days, otherwise I disconnect the device and the camera works for a long period.

Thanks for the post but the unit requires 4 "D" Cell batteries in the housing that provide power for both the lights and camera. These are the main power source and must larger capacity than the batteries in the camera and should provide power for the entire unit for close to two years with normal use. Check to make sure those are fresh and if you're still having issues, you might have a defective unit. I hope that helps, Rick

Can this be capable of using a solar panel to charge and the camera solar charged also or is there just only one connection to connect the light to the camera ****You said the light 4 d batteries charge camera????? Is this true.

Carol, thanks for the post and I suppose you could use a solar panel to power the unit but it would need a little modification to sdo that. Right now the D-cell batteries power both the camera and the light. There is only one cable connection to the camera from the product and it plugs into the Micro-USB port on the back of the camera. The entire solution takes less than 15 minutes to setup with nothing more than a screwdriver. Here's a link to the product if you'd like to check it out - amzn.to/3RBwLST. I thought the video was incredibly helpful except for no mention of how their "synch module 2" is supposed to be used for up to 10 cameras. It was a nightmare setting up two and then having to repeat the process. Also I really hate this product because of the hassle. I bought two, neither of which could I snap onto the floodlight. Again this video was excellent I'm just sharing my feedback in case others are still considering purchase. Would not recommend.
