I love noodling around like that at night with all the lights of, the cats sleeping on my keyboard and the reverb ringing in the distance. The day could have been busy as hell, but that always brings me back. Great lesson as always, man 🤘

Until recently I've spent most of my time in standard tuning. About a month ago I just started leaving a guitar in drop D and another in drop C# and started exploring. This lesson really is going to push me forward. Thanks for the awesome lesson!

The beginning of the intro sounds very Tool No quarter like, so... I LOVE IT. As Max Niessl pointed out, just noodling late at night, with droning D or whatever... Best thing ever. Loved the video!

I’m so amazed by this. Music theory like this can be so interesting when explained and explored this way. Each note compliments each other in complex ways in this tuning. I’ve gotta try this out.

This is the greatest guitar lesson I've come across in a long time and genuinely stumbled upon. Thank you, I always wanted to come close to sounding like this and being able to play it on the fly for when I'm in my "ambient" moods. Adding a lead or filter tone will really make these scales explode in their versatility

I do play stuff like that after a couple hours of guitar exercises, escales and harder rock and it feels like a meditation after hardcore training. Using reverb and delays help a lot in getting into this kind of “trascendence” mode. This one of yours gave me some more inspiration. Thanks man.

Greg, thanks for this! I'm always looking to expand my songwriting away from the boring power chord stuff. I have a love for Drop D. I like how you explain why you do what you're doing on the guitar instead of just playing stuff. Understanding the when, why and how gives us the understanding to come up with our own stuff!

Awesome vid man. I pretty much only use drop tunings these days for these very reasons, biggest one being the big open chords you can get. Been using DADGAD a lot lately and I love it so much, it’s so versatile.

@@axeofcreation used to run twin delays when I had mine, one delay with the c button set to hold the note, the second delay doing which ever delay. After a while the held note begins to do some weird slow droned out pulses and its so musical on its own!
