Thanks for making this, it helped me learn the song a lot faster than with just tabs.

I love all of tool, clean and dirty, but I love those inlays on that guitar. I feel like I’m looking at a galaxy in space 😂.

Nice melody, even without the 8/8 addition. Why don't you make a song out of it? Perhaps you could skip 8/8 and do like 9/8 or other odd time?

At 4:28 I’d like the point out there’s a C# played over the A to make an A major sound

man, this helps alot, before i was picking every note during the main riff and getting the timing down was insane but seeing it now with pull offs makes a ton more sense

It’s interesting to hear how similar the 11/8 riff is to the bottom riff toward the end of the song

That sound you hear when you strike the low E and D strings, and the gradual alignment to Drop-D is the most familiar sound to me ever 😅

Awesome tip, especially back from D to standard. Normally for drop D , i pic E and D back and forth until you get that same sweet spot but that's heaps better. Looks more professional too. Cheers 👌

This phenomenon is called beating. Audio waves are additive. When two waves of a close but differing frequency are added together, they will have double amplitude when they are in phase and cancel each other out when they are out of phase. Interestingly, the frequency of the fluttering is the same as the difference in frequency between the waves.

Call it what you want...I just tune until my power chords sound good

If you're tuning down, go flat on the note first, then back up as it's more stable on the string. Otherwise it will probably go flat since the last action on the tuner was relaxing the string.

Thats called a "beat frequency", not a flutter

Thanks for all your videos, man. Without you, I wouldn't have learnt any Tool song. So far I've learnt The Pot, Pneuma, Invincible, and now this beautiful banger, 7empest. I wouldn't usually comment on videos. It's just I checked your channel and noticed you haven't uploaded content in a while. I hope you're well. Can't wait for your new stuff. Cheers man! You're the best.

Literally playing it wrong within 2 seconds . You’re missing the second low hit of the chord . It’s obvious on the track but you’re strumming high strings with no hammer slap . Learn it properly
