Can't wait to try this. I've fished drop shot with a minnow BUT now I want to try it with a lure. Thanks CT!

Thank you! Excellent presentation! Cant wait to try it? For a normal dock and one with indoor heated dock, how much should I leave between the weight and hook?
@cerebraltackle18 күн бұрын
That completely depends on how high the brush comes off the bottom. The goal is to put the bait right in the top of the tree. So, if the brush comes 3 ft off the bottom, set the hook at 3 ft in 4 in. Play it by ear and find out what gets you hung up less. If you don't mind me asking, where in the world is a good heated dock these days?

@@johngarrie2633 thank you, I appreciate that! It is an amazing little rig! We use it year round, not just when the fishing is tough. It's a great way to get live bait into tight situations. However, when a finesse bite is needed, the small baits like the grubs and microplastics work absolutely wonders! So do very small micro jigs. I'm talking trout jigs....1/80 - 1/120 in size!

I like that cylinder shaped weight for tossing under docks. Sometimes an extra foot or so of distance makes the difference. I'll be drop shotting panfish this spring. Thansk CT
