2 things: 1: zeke and jp should be required to talk during anything cohh loves so he can feel our pain 2: sgf needs to go digital. the live audience theater show is so outdated. save it for the game awards. i really loved the xbox showcase and how it was trailer after trailer and small inserts for perfect dark, phil at the beginning, and sarah bond at the end

Bioware said 2 companions and balance between flow and tactics with the ability to use a “wheel”, I presume action wheel like sort of in ME. Turn-based style of the combat in that Expedition 33 game cool af

Seems to have made zero difference, looks like a live service game. Does not help that the game has had a high turnover rate as it has, so they probably salvaged what they could. Just to release something. This ain't Dragon Age.

I see what they did with Shadows. You can play a character that is balls to the wall action like with the last few games or you can play a true assassin like in the classic ACs.

South of Midnight was also hurting my eyes. It looks amazing. It looks to be a fun action-adventure. I'm not playing it unless they switch the cutscenes to something smooth. The voices, the love for the Southern aesthetic. All great.

setting the corpo filthiness of Microsoft aside for a moment, *Doom, Expedition 33, South of Midnight, Snake Eater, Flintlock, Age of Mythology Retold, Winter Burrow, Mixtape, Double Exposure, Mechabreak, Wuchang, AC Shadows, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2* & *Flight Sim Careers* all speak to me, and *Avowed* & *Perfect Dark* look surprisingly great. never thought they'd take *GEARS* back to E-Day, so that's a welcome surprise as well. can't believe almost zero gameplay for *Fable* again, and no gameplay for *Dragon Age* again, though, smh. solid show, 8/10.

@@Kyledgradable-i7oI'm glad you feel that way, but the majority of users found that first trailer horrendous and it almost killed the momentum of excitement for the game completely until they actually used their brains and showed better footage because guess what? The trailer did a terrible job for the general consumer of that genre. I hope it does well, but wishlists are much lower than I expected, I'm worried we may not even get a new mass effect at this rate. I expected way higher numbers, especially on pc wishlisting.

I thought Avowed looked good. But that's because I am hoping for it to basically be Fallout: New Vegas but for Skyrim. What I saw kinda bore that idea out. Not technically impressive, but that's not what made F:NV great.

I think it has to do with how he thinks he knows how game development works and how the industry works, since he now also publishes games with mad mushroom. It could also be age, you get grumpier as you age.

@@alteredgenos so he is like every other publisher. He thinks he knows better than the people making the thing and also has no idea how or why decisions are made. Sounds great... look forward to his games.. I didn't realize he was this way until a few months back when I saw him trying out an indy game made by a small team. The game launched with a thank you message pointing out that it's a small team and they appreciate the support... his response was "This feels like they're trying to avoid criticism by pointing out it's a small team". What a douchey comment that was.

I really took the word of other people who said that obsidian does great work on these open world RPG style games, but Avowed still looks like generic mediocre filler content in the same way their last game was, and that is concerning to me. I'm just not seeing any of this obsidian magic the people talk up. And it's not like Bethesda is doing so fantastic without them either... I just don't get it.

Obviously these things are subjective but imo Obsidian has never made a bad game. They aren't technical powerhouses with groundbreaking graphics and generally aren't major showcase blockbusters because they deal in game mechanics and story. I am on the fence with Avowed because I agree, it looks okay, but having played so many of their games I also know they will be a lot deeper than what they show.

@@Kyledgradable-i7o I've also played pillars of eternity, and I love both of those games so I could see the vision on something like a crpg. I guess I'm just waiting to be sold on the idea that the open world will be appealing enough to be worth exploring for these mechanics and story.

The stop motion animation is definitely not working for me - it's jerky, looks shitty, tiring on the eyes. Doom looks good, although I'm afraid it will feel a bit samey, it's basically the same game again, with some bells and whistles. The Dragon Age trailer is an abomination. They should just name the game something else. The dream of a good Bioware game has truly died forever. The rest of the games were impossible to judge by their trailers, but Expedition 33 and Perfect Dark might have some potential.
