@chrisPfish in Tomales (if no intel from previous day) start dropping pots in the main channel behind Hog Island about 50 yards apart heading toward the mouth of the bay. Check pots about 20-30 minutes soak time, if no keepers start leap frogging them out toward the mouth. Once you find the crab grab your other pots and hoops and stack the area. As far as launching on low tides, the other two options are (1) have the tractor at Lawsons launch you from the beach (not sure on fee) (2) If you have 4 wheel drive launch yourself at Marconi Cove for free, it’s just a few miles south of Miller Park (Nicks Cove). I worked out there for 17 years and still fish there often. Tight Lines

Commercial boys cleaned up most of the crabs we’ve been getting about a crab a pot on 48 hour soak for our 400 pot permit….season was great for the opener then fell on its face the last week.

Yo. Just a heads up, you're only allowed a single main buoy, plus your marker buoy. The days of having double buoys are over. Doesn't make sense, but its the law. The capn told me the commercial guys actually cut and glue multiple buoys together to make a larger Frankenstein buoy. However, if it comes unglued, you're using multiple buoys and will get fined. Either way, good luck out there!

good video. I watched the Family Fish Killer channel , awhile back, they harvested like 75 rock crab in one day out of tomales. Oft times winter and colder weather the dungees stay in the sandy bottoms and come out after dark more? Probably not a bad day.

Chris P thanks for another sweet vid. Never had a problem w the ramp back in the day. Good to know though. Was planning to do some clamming in March on some minus tides. I’ll have to check my times & make sure I can get back when there’s enough water. Thanks SO much for that valuable tip, exactly why I love watching your channel.

Nice video. While I know most people just want to see the money shots of pots full of crabs I like a video that shows all the effort and hard work involved. Makes it realistic for those who are thinking about trying this.
