I don't know, can you? It's pretty complicated with lots of knobs and wires :)

Hey ! Glad you find the octatrack is an awesome sequencer ^^ it's a good first experience here !! Next time you could write more different parts :p If you wanna get close to the acid sound, you have to make a short filter env (attack at 0, sustain at zero) and modulate the decay (of the filter env) and the filter cutoff point, while your resonnance is almost at maximum ; now if you wanna get even closer to the acid sound, you'll have to find a 303 clone (like the MB33 retro, which is awesome and not expensive) ; also the pattern itself is important to do acid, their has to be glide and accent (on a 303 the "accent" parameters is doing much more than a simple velocity parameters, the circuitry itself is boosting the resonnance and the env on the accentuated notes) that's what gives acid music his sound :) I encourage you to look at documentaries on 303 :) thanks a lot for the link in the description, it's really thoughtfull :) :) :) !! Cheers :p Louis

Great recommendations, Louis. Merci beaucoup. I am going to see if I can order the MB33 here in the US. It looks like an amazing deal for the price! I had been thinking about getting Roland boutique TB-03’s and demo’d one but they are all sold out now! I think Behringer is maybe coming out with an analog 303 clone too.

their is plenty analog clone of the 303 already, I'm not sure behringer would make a good deal to make one...the TT303 MK1, to me, is one of the top clone out there, the avalon and the RE303 are also awesome (but expensive) ; the TB03 is really not appealing because I hate roland so much...they could have done this 40years ago but they won't because the head of Roland was racist, he was not happy with gays and black people using the 303 to do this "acid music" At first the 303 was supposed to be a bassline support for guitar players, not techno ; then Roland is selling this digital "303" product step by step (they began with the aira thing) to make the more monney they could, like with the tr8S, they could have made this at the first place, they are not stupid..Anyway XD But the MB33 it is one of the best sounding clone imho, it's not the most faithful recreation at all, but to be honnest, the square wave is one of the most beautiful square I ever seen ! To me (and to 2 friend of mine) the mb33 sound "better" than my x0xb0x, or the TT303, but I don't use it anymore in my setup because the MB33 has no sequencer :( Also you can calibrate the filter offset and env with a screw driver, once you did that, the MB33 is really powerful ; the only issue with this little box is that the knobs are not touching the front panel so if you are not careful you could stress your potentiometers, that's why I changed all the knob of my mb33 ; But for the price you can't go wrong, it's tiny and awesome, even as a non acid synth it's one of my first love :) you can check her sound on my second video (and the first as well) but I must appologize, because the sound quality is not as good as my last vidéo ; however you will hear how it sounds :) On a side note, to trig the accent on the mb33, you just have to send her note at maximum velocity (127) ; then all the other velocity level under 127 are triggering normal notes ; then you could glide over accent or not, accent over glide ect, that's what's funny with 303 like programming :) To get back to your performance, maybe next time you could turn knobs (like cutoff and decay of some synth) as the patterns are playing ? you will see it's like releasing energy in real time, it's really pleasant :p Sorry I wrote a book XD Cheers :)

acid track with no 303 ? ...
@ModularLanding6 жыл бұрын
I know...! I don’t have a 303 or SH-101 type synth (or know yet how to emulate one)... That’s why it’s not pure acid. So I need to look into how to get that sound.

Cool track, bro. :) Do you happen to play guitar, as well ... ? ;)
@ModularLanding6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I do. Guitar is my main instrument, although I also play piano. I only started on synths in the past few years. Thanks for watching!
@kierenmoore32366 жыл бұрын
Exactly the same, here. I could tell (even without the guitar amp in the background), because of your use of FX. For some reason, synth/keyboard players seem pretty clueless about same.

Kieren Moore yes I love pedals on synths! Especially delays, reverbs and weird effects.
