In Praise of Tara - an instrumental synth symphony (Octatrack + Roland Boutiques)

This is a live performance of a synth piece using the Octatrack as a hub to sequence and control samples (such as the Tibetan singing bowl) as well as four other synths via MIDI: a JP-08, JU-06, TR-08 and Volca FM. In addition to sequencing, the OT is also used as a controller for the other synths to play them live, switching between the different MIDI channels.
The JU-06 goes into a Catalinbread Belle Epoch, the Volca FM goes into a Chase Bliss Thermae for pitch-shifting delay and the JP-08 and TR-08 go back into the OT. The OT's main outs go into a Strymon Big Sky reverb. All those are then fed into a mixbus chain that is driven pretty hard for saturation, harmonics and compression: a LouderThanLiftoff Silver Bullet, Manley Vari-Mu, pair of RN 542's, and a Handsome Audio Zulu. No additional effects or post-processing.

it's an underated synth but you will have to be careful with the cutoff knob ^^ then I higly encourage you to twist the trimmer at the back of the synth so the filter behave as you wich :) except that it's an awesome sounding little unit :D btw, why Tara praising on your vidéo (except for the tibetan sound?) I didn't even know who she was before searshing for it

Nathan Shores yes! The chain is the Silver Bullet (A->N and driven pretty hard) into a Vari-Mu for light compression, RN 542’s and a Handsome Audio Zulu. This gives the synths and OT a really big sound. The TR-08 especially sounds completely different.
