If you want to chose colours non biased, I would actually sort it into variety of cool and warm shades as well as depth (just use a grey filter for that and sort into light/medium/dark)! I personally find that many local brands here carry blushtones - so that might be just a regional demand thing. On the other hand I have a hard time finding many brown shades, it's usually one or two at best. If you're generous with the category, maybe also a deeper beige.

I think Malabrigo Rios or Arroyo might be the softest yet most available yarns in every LYS I've encountered, and would love to see a review on one of those to get a good idea of how all of your other reviewed yarns compare 😍

Thank you for the suggestion! I have heard from a few sources that the Daisy pills pretty easily but unfortunately, that is a characteristic of softer merino yarns.

@@UntwistedThreads that’s true! I’ve managed to knit two sweaters for me and my husband with drops Daisy. And only after washing, blocking and wearing mine for a few days I noticed how heavily it pills! What a disappointment was it… But I have no claims how enjoyable and smooth was knitting itself.

@UntwistedThreads I'm now planning a zipper sweater in the same combination. I will, however, invest in a softer mohair as sweaters tend to touch my neck and Drops mohair I find irritating next to skin. I may go for the caramel color of Daisy you showed in your video.

I love daisy! I knit a raglan sweater with the parrot green color and I absolutely love it. It's so squishy and soft! I just ordered more for another sweater. It is pilling, but easy to shave with a sweater shaver. Definitely excited for more colors. Great video!!

I’ve knit a cardigan in Double Sandnes for my goddaughter and while the color is lovely, the softness perfect as expected, it pills horribly! Honestly, I don’t think I’ll ever use this yarn again. I haven’t tried Daisy yet. Yarn availability doesn’t really affect us in Europe. Both brands are widely available, and at a lesser price (Daisy is more than half the price of Double Sunday; I just checked, Daisy is currently available to me, in France, at 2.58€ and DS at 6.90€)
@UntwistedThreads10 ай бұрын
I am so sorry to hear that! Unfortunately I do believe that Daisy will pill as well, that is just the nature of soft/merino yarns. They just don't have the hearty characteristics like a more rustic wool does. I am happy to hear it is more widely available for you!:)

Maybe it would be worth adding an ethical/sustainability factor in your reviews? I think sometimes (not always), the extra cost of a yarn may come from the fact that it’s ethically sourced, and for some people, that is one of the most important factors when choosing yarn… just a thought…

Responsible Production "... We take sustainability seriously. That's why the merino wool in DROPS Daisy comes from free-range, mulesing-free animals in South America. ... " (c) _______ It is absolutely not difficult to find information on the Internet. Try next time...

@@lada9090 It was merely a friendly suggestion for future comparisons of yarns, not necessarily this one. It seems that the video maker took the comment as that, so I’m not sure why you feel the need to be so aggressive about it. I wasn’t trying to attack Drops yarn - I have used it myself. If you read my comment again, it does say that the extra cost of yarn ‘sometimes’ comes from it being ethically sourced, ‘not always’. Maybe you could ‘try next time’…

@@laurahearnshaw7348 Drops are cheaper and ethical - why do you justify the high prices of other yarns? This looks like a provocation. And your politeness is just a tactic of toxic people. @@laurahearnshaw7348 Laura, don't be so cunning. If you did something nasty and someone pointed it out to you - keep quiet - have a conscience. But you wrote something nasty and pretended that you did nothing bad. Don't write anymore. The opinion about you is getting even worse.

Unfortunately both of these yarns pill quite a bit. It is the nature of softer yarns to pill, especially merino yarns. I recommend a heartier yarn like a Bluefaced Leicester or a Peruvian Highland wool, as pilling wise, they hold up a little bit better, and a lot of them are fairly soft too!:)
