Where I live we have very little to no fat wood, some say because of the cold and long Winters we have, so I am totally jealous that you can find fat wood that has been under water for so long lol. Great video as always. Take care and stay safe snake.

Everywhere that has pine trees has fatwood.

Short... to long. Great video brother! 🎈🥳🎈 I would never think wood submerged in water for years would be any good for burning. Thank you for the edu-ma-Ka-tion. First! ❤️

Solid fat wood ( amber color ) could be under water for 100 years and still burn. It's basically solidified turpentine. Fence posts made by the early crackers here in Florida can still be found ( if you are lucky ) and it is just as hard and good as back then. Today the best fat wood ( Lighter Knot ) are the stumps of pine trees where the outer soft wood has rotted away. One camping trip it rained for 4 days , 24-7 and we had a fire all the time. Fat wood will burn even in a rain and there was plenty of it to burn.

Very interesting content, I really struggle to find good fatwood down here in the far south west of the UK. Is that a coldsteel blade?
@QuantumPyrite_88.9 Жыл бұрын
Where do you live in the UK please?
@redfaux74 Жыл бұрын
No, it's not a Cold Steel blade. I'm a huge fan of Cold Steel and I would recognize it. He gives the name of the blade in a former video. If you haven't watched them, sub and check them out. They're worth it. I want to say it's called a Black Hawk or something but I'm unfamiliar with the brand.

I have some fatwood in my fire starting kits that is several years old, and it still works great even though it does not smell as strong. Personally I don't think that I would have ever looked for fatwood in a dried up lakebed. Good job snake.
